Security chips enable smart public transport in Barcelona
Barcelona is Spain’s second largest urban area and according to Juniper Research one of the smartest cities in 2015. The “T-Mobilitat” electronic fare collection system will further improve urban mobility. Infineon supplies the security chips for the “T-Mobilitat” infrastructure - for both the chip-based tickets, that work contactlessly, as well as validators based on the advanced security standard CIPURSE.
Infrared Sensor Lets Engineers Check Temperatures with a Smartphone App
Calex Electronics new PyroNFC, a small, low-cost infrared temperature sensor that lets engineers and machine operators use a smartphone app to check temperature measurements on the production line
Investment brings flexible sensors to market
Large investments have been made to enable flexible, thin sensors rather than rigid sensors. By Guillaume Chansin, Senior Technology Analyst, IDTechEx.
Sensor enables smartphone app to check temperatures
The new PyroNFC from Calex Elecronics is a small, low-cost infrared temperature sensor that lets engineers and machine operators use a smartphone app to check temperature measurements on the production line. The PyroNFC sensor measures the temperature of surfaces in industrial processes without contact, and at just 29 mm in length, it is the smallest sensor that Calex has ever produced.
Low cost energy harvesting device for use in NFC applications
The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) has announced a UK-based consortium to develop a novel printed energy harvesting device that is powered by NFC. The device will facilitate the wider adoption of NFC-enabled applications in consumer packaging, document and brand security, in addition to wireless sensor networks for defence, healthcare and medical devices.
