Online tool enables ASIC design flexibility
The Sensor + Test exhibition in Nuremberg provided the launch pad for Swindon Silicon Systems’ online IC Builder which is a new way for design engineers to visualise what their ASIC/MEMS solution may look like for their application and to informally discuss with Swindon the results and the process required to implement the IC solution.
Regulator with digital power system management
The LTM4686 from Power by Linear, a dual 10A or single 20A ultrathin step-down µModule regulator with a PMBus interface housed in a 16x11.9x1.82mm LGA package has been announced by Analog Devices.
Portfolio replaces oscillators, buffers and complete clock trees
Silicon Labs has expanded its Si5332 any-frequency clock portfolio with new versions combining the clock IC and a quartzcrystal reference inside the same package, simplifying board layout and design. The all-in-one Si5332 solution guarantees reliable start-up and operation over the lifetime of the product, unlike traditional solutions that source the clock IC and crystal from different suppliers and risk interoperability issues.
Mixed-signal scope brings 8GHz bandwidth to mid-range market
Lee Morgan, Market Development Manager at Tektronix UK is in no doubt. “The need for designers to address embedded device test is becoming more and more prevalent to accommodate the needs of designers working on faster, more complex embedded systems designs.”
Super sequencer simplifies multi-rail power system management
It has been announced by Analog Devices, that it is releasing the Power by Linear ADM1266 Super Sequencer, a highly programmable device for monitoring, sequencing, and margining up to 17 power supplies.
50A µModule regulator scalable to 250A runs cool
It has been announced by Analog Devices that they are releasing the Power by Linear LTM4678 dual 25A or single 50A step down µModule regulator, with PMBus digital interface. By stacking and exposing its two inductors on top of BGA package, the LTM4678 uses the inductors as heat sinks to transfer heat from inside, keeping the device cool.
Digital flame sensor boosts detection distances
The Sensor + Test exhibition in Nuremberg provided the platform for Pyreos to unveil its ezPyro TO flame sensor with a digital interface. It offers longer distance detection and an impressive field of vision exemplified by CEO Andrew Wallace using a lighter flame virtually sideways on from a distance of six feet and still drawing a response from the sensor.
High accuracy pressure sensing with corrosion resistance
Expanding its range of pressure sensors, Variohm EuroSensor has introduced the new and robust EPT7100 series featuring 316 grade stainless steel wetted parts and an integral Packard connector for durability and convenient installation at competitive cost. With a choice of four hermetically sealed pressure ports and five standard pressure range options from 0.01 to 10 bar, the EPT7100 is a suitable choice for gas or liquid pressure measurement for ...
10nm chipset at heart of crypto mining unit
The AntEater is the first in the Super Miner series of crypto mining units from Coolisys Technologies. It features the 10nm mining chipset jointly developed by Samsung/Innosilicon, which has been integrated with Coolisys’ highly-efficient power system. The AntEater is an ASIC Bitcoin crypto-miner designed to operate faster while emitting less heat than any other similarly dedicated miner currently available.
Power supply design features digital controllers for cloud computing
Renesas Electronics hasannounced two new PMBus compliant, fully digital DC/DC controllers that provide single output point-of-load (POL) conversions for FPGAs, DSPs, ASICs, network processors and general purpose system rails. The ISL68300 with integrated MOSFET drivers and ISL68301 with PWM output simplify designing power supplies for data centre, wired and wireless communications, and factory automation equipment.
