TiaLinx, Inc. Announces Release of Phoenix50-A, a Small Unmanned Aerial System with Software-Defined Multi-Function Radar Capability
TiaLinx, Inc., a developer of remotely controlled small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) integrated with mm-wave miniaturized radars, today announced the release of its software-defined multi-function radar sensor implemented in its vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) platform. The Phoenix50-A VTOL sUAS system is capable of performing various functions such as motion detection within a compound, scanning the ground for unexploded ordnance (UXO), ...
New record low-power multi-standard transceiver for sensor networks
Imec and Holst Centre announce a 2.3/2.4GHz transmitter for wireless sensor applications compliant with 4 wireless standards (IEEE802.15.6/4/4g and Bluetooth Low Energy). The transmitter has been fabricated in a 90nm CMOS process, and consumes only 5.4mW from a 1.2V supply (2.7nJ/bit) at 0dBm output. This is 3 to 5 times more power-efficient than the current state-of-the-art Bluetooth-LE solutions.
New Compact Energy-Harvesting and Power-Management IC Enables Low-Power Wireless Devices
The MAX17710 harvests energy from power sources of 1µW to 100mW for efficiently charging THINERGY® Micro-Energy Cells (MECs).
The T24-AR Active Repeater
The T24-AR Active Repeater has been added to the T24 range of fast, licence-exempt, wireless 2.4GHz radio telemetry instrumentation. The T24-AR is a two-way active repeater unit that, in effect, passes on communications between other modules in the range and thus can help route the signals around obstructions such as machinery, buildings or walls, and can extend the range of the units. The range of the T24 system without the repeater and using i...
Saelig Weighs in With Smart Load Sensor
Saelig announced LoadSense - an intelligent load sensor that can be integrated with a crane hook, fork lift or other handling device for intelligent feedback of loading events. It has an on-board single-chip computer for recording, analyzing and archiving readings, and wireless communications to transfer data in real time to a host computer. LoadSense provides the real-time information needed to optimize efficiency and increase profitability in a...
High-Quality Code Detection with Vision Sensors ....Reduce costs and increase quality
At the MTEC Exhibition, Balluff demonstrated their new Vision sensor for detecting and identifying 1-D codes (barcode) and 2-D codes (Data Matrix). The Balluff BVS-E Identification reads the commonly found codes and can even verify texts and number sequences. It also reads multiple codes in one pass saving repeated read cycles and eliminating the need for several sensors. It even works reliably under challenging conditions, such as directly impri...
Tactical Grade MEMS Gyroscope Rivals Fiber Optic Gyroscopes on Performance with Significantly Smaller Size, Lighter Weight and Less Power Consumption
Analog Devices released for general availability the ADIS16136 tactical grade isensor digital MEMS gyroscope, which provides 3.5o/hr typical bias stability in a matchbox-sized module consuming less than 1 watt and weighing only 25 grams. The new tactical grade (below 10o/hr bias stability) iSensor MEMS gyroscope operates autonomously and requires no user configuration before producing precise and accurate rate sensing data, quickly enabling preci...
