Firmware upgrade enhances measurement amplifiers
A new firmware upgrade, revision v1.3.0, for its industry best-selling G5 Series measurement amplifiers has been released by BLH Nobel, a brand of Vishay Precision Group. Originally launched in February 2016, the BLH Nobel G5 Series combines standard interfaces, a modular design, and onboard integral web servers for streamlined commissioning and calibration functions, along with reduced operations and maintenance costs.
Power MOSFETs lower conduction, switching losses
With the new n-channel SiHP065N60E, distributor Rutronik presents the first device in Vishay’s fourth generation of 600V E Series power MOSFETs. This new MOSFET lowers conduction and switching losses while increasing efficiency. Thus, it is ideal for applications in telecommunication, industrial, and enterprise power systems.
Mil-Spec wet tantalum capacitor offers extended capacitance range
Tantalum-cased, hermetically sealed capacitors with the new, expanded capacitance ranges from Vishay are available at New Yorker Electronics. The new device features a wide voltage range from 50V to 100V, high capacitance from 220µF to 680µF, capacitance tolerance of ±10% and ±20% standard and a maximum ripple current of 2750mA.
Electrolytic capacitors enable reduced component count
A new series of 400 V and 450 V snap-in, four-terminal aluminum electrolytic capacitors has been announced by Vishay Intertechnology. They offer improved ripple current capability at an ambient temperature of 105°C in 15 large case sizes. Designed for power supplies and industrial and home appliance inverters, the Vishay BCcomponents 299 PHL-4TSI series reduces component counts and lowers costs while increasing mechanical stability and end-pr...
Capacitors qualified to "biased 85/85" accelerated life test
The VY1 Compact series of AC-line-rated ceramic disc safety capacitors from Vishay Intertechnology is now qualified to the "biased 85/85" accelerated life test. Providing extraordinary reliability for Class X1 (760 VAC) and Y1 (500 VAC) applications, the Vishay BCcomponents devices offer high pulse strength up to 10 kV while withstanding a temperature of 85 °C and relative humidity of 85 % at rated voltage for 1,000 hours.
Vishay Intertechnology at APEC 2017
At APEC 2017, Vishay Intertechnology will be highlighting its latest power MOSFET, IC, passive component, diode, and optoelectronics technologies for a wide range of applications. Product demonstrations in the company's booth will include ENYCAP hybrid energy storage capacitors; low profile, high current inductors; thick film chip resistors and dividers; thin film chip resistors; and surface-mount film resistors.
An introduction to wireless charging
Battery charging without cables can add convenience, durability and safety to a number of different applications. For example, smartphone charging on the go, such as in public places, or home charging stations that don’t require that search for the correct charging cable.
Creating a negative output voltage using a buck converter
A theory of operation as well as schematics and performance data to enable a the quick implementation of a circuit which require a negative supply and in which only a positive supply is available in the system. By Owain Bryant, Vishay Intertechnology
Sulphur resistant devices optimised for automotive usage
A new series of sulphur-resistant long side termination thick film chip resistors optimised for automotive and industrial applications has been announced by Vishay Intertechnology. For high sulphur environments, resistors in the AEC-Q200-qualified Vishay Draloric RCA‑LS e3 series feature a patented construction that provides a sulphur withstand ability in accordance with ASTMB809‑95, tested at an advanced level of 90 °C for 1,000hours.
Power MOSFET lowers conduction and switching losses
The first device in its fourth generation of 600V E Series power MOSFETs has been introduced by Vishay Siliconix. Providing high efficiency for telecom, industrial, and enterprise power supply applications, the n-channel SiHP065N60E slashes on-resistance by 30 % compared with previous 600V E Series MOSFETs while delivering 44% lower gate charge.
