PXI matrix modules showcased at SMTConnect 2019
SMT Connect 2019 will provide the platform for Pickering Interfaces to show its modular signal switching and simulation solutions for use in electronic test and verification. These include the Model 40-559 BRIC Ultra-High-Density Large PXI Matrix Modules. This range of large PXI matrices are robust 1A/20W switching modules, with up to 4,096 crosspoints.
High-performance lightweight high-current relay
Connectivity and sensors solutions provider, TE Connectivity (TE), has introduced its new Battery Disconnect Relay 12V (BDR 12V) for automotive high-current applications. The product extends TE's range of high-current (HC) relays that can be used in automotive and industrial applications.
Beacon wirelessly relays energy usage data
It has been announced by Nordic Semiconductor, that OneMeter, an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) startup, has selected Nordic’s nRF51822 Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) System-on-Chip (SoC) to provide the wireless connectivity for its ‘OneMeter Beacon’, a device that provides companies with the ability to monitor and manage their energy usage data in ‘real time’.
Deal expands hybrid electric commercial vehicle portfolio.
A definitive agreement has been signed by TE Connectivity (TE) to acquire the Kissling group of companies, a provider of high- power relays and ruggedised switches used in a range of industries as well as other applications. The transaction is expected to close May 30th, 2019, following the completion of customary regulatory approvals.
Automotive and power technology at PCIM Europe 2019
It has been announced that Toshiba Electronics Europe will be exhibiting at PCIM Europe from 7th to 9th May, where the latest innovations in semiconductor and optoelectronic technologies that can improve efficiency and thermal performance, will be showcased. Solutions supporting automotive, power and motor drive applications are demonstrated in hall nine at the Toshiba booth 301.
Achieve UL approval for control equipment
It has been announced by Toshiba Electronics Europe that their high-current photorelays are now available with UL 508 certification. All of the nine devices in the series include low on-state resistance MOSFETs based upon Toshiba’s U-MOS VIII process that ensure high performance in a wide range of applications.
Optocouplers cut design costs and save board space
Broadening its optoelectronics portfolio Vishay Intertechnology has released two series of optocouplers with phototriac output in space-saving compact DIP-4 and SMD-4 packages. Featuring a high off state voltage of 800V and dV/dt of 1000V/μs, Vishay Semiconductors' VOT8024A and VOT8121A series deliver high robustness and noise isolation for home appliances and industrial equipment.
What is the right temperature point for my electrical enclosure?
Electrical enclosures serve to protect electrical devices from adverse environmental influences, such as dirt, other particulates, moisture, or chemicals that could damage components. Plus, by housing electrical devices inside a secure enclosure or box, personnel are protected from electrical hazards such as electric shock, arc flash, and burns. However, electrical devices generate heat as a byproduct of their operation.
Five key elements to selecting a PDU
Electricity is like air and water, something that we have all come to take for granted. But there is now clear evidence that we cannot assume our energy sources can be forever guaranteed. Data centres rely on a stable electricity supply 24/7, but our future supply is far from assured. By Mark Guest, Rittal’s Product Manager for IT Power Distribution
High current relay for home appliance applications
It has been announced that Omron Electronic Components Business Europe has extended its popular G2RL power relay family with a new extra high capacity 23A model, for switching the heaviest current loads in home appliance, industrial and HVAC applications.
