Synchronous Step-Down Controller Provides True Current Mode Control with Sub Milliohm DCR Sensing
Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTC3866, a current mode synchronous step-down DC/DC controller that allows the use of very low DC resistance power inductor using a novel DCR sensing architecture that enhances the signal-to-noise ratio of the current sense signal. A power inductor DC resistance of as low as 0.17 milliohms can be used to maximize converter efficiency and increase power density.
Synchronous Step-Down DC/DC Controller Delivers Up to 95% Efficiency with 2MHz Operating Frequency
Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTC3839, a high frequency controlled on-time single output dual phase synchronous step-down DC/DC controller that can achieve up to 92% efficiency with a 25A output when operating at 2MHz. The operating frequency is selectable from 200kHz to 2MHz or can be synchronized to an external clock. A low 30ns minimum on-time allows for a high step-down ratio at very high operating frequencies.
Dual 36V Low Loss Controllers Drive Large PFETs
Linear Technology has introduced the LTC4416 and LTC4416-1, robust dual ideal diode PowerPath controllers for driving small and large gate capacitance P-channel MOSFETs in power switchover circuits.
