Automotive-compliant 40V dual MOSFET in 3.3x3.3mm package
Diodes Incorporated has announced an automotive-compliant 40V dual MOSFET in a 3.3x3.3mm package. The DMT47M2LDVQ can replace two discrete MOSFETs to reduce the board space footprint in many automotive applications, from electric seat control to advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
Distribution industry top brass optimistic for 2021
A false dawn or a path to the sunny uplands of an industry revival and boom? Industry executives think the latter. Record months and booming business is being reported across the board. This surge in business is already producing lengthening lead times for some products, and allocation may not be too far away, according to Electronic Specifier's Mick Elliott.
4-Quadrant silicon PIN photodiode is AEC-Q101 qualified
The Optoelectronics group of Vishay Intertechnology has introduced what is claimed to be the industry's first 4-quadrant silicon PIN photodiode in a standard surface-mount package, qualified for automotive applications.
AEC-Q101 MOSFETs with repetitive avalanche performance
Nexperia has launched a new AEC-Q101-qualified Repetitive Avalanche Application Specific FET (ASFET) portfolio focused on powertrain applications. The technology has been tested to one billion avalanche cycles and can be used to control automotive inductive loads such as solenoids and actuators. In addition to providing a faster turn-off time (up to four times), designs can be simplified through a reduced BOM count.
Motor-control designs for low-voltage applications
STMicroelectronics has created an integrated three-phase half-bridge driver IC with performance optimised for low-voltage industrial applications up to 75V, delivering a space-efficient and power-saving solution to control three-phase brushless motors in e-bikes, power tools, pumps, fans, light machinery, gaming consoles, and other equipment.
High-voltage analogue multiplexers provide signal distribution
Diodes Incorporated has announced the introduction of the PS508 and PS509 analogue multiplexers that are capable of switching signal voltages of up to 36V in an industrial environment. The high voltage capability of the devices will support industrial IoT (IIoT) applications using multiple sensors, including factory automation and process control, battery monitoring systems, and test and measurement equipment.
Drivers for high-power continuous wave laser diodes
PicoLAS introduced two new drivers of the LDP-CW 250-40 series to offer efficient control of high-performance continuous wave laser diodes. The electronics are housed in an ultra-compact casing and achieve an output power of 10kW at a power density of 5W/cm³. At an efficiency of 94%, both models generate a maximum output current of 250A and an output voltage of up to 40V.
Flexible hybrid electronics requires attachment materials
We are often told that ‘you can’t have your cake and eat it.’ However, many technological advancements succeed commercially precisely because they eliminate an existing compromise. Flexible hybrid electronics (FHE) is a great example of an emerging technology that removes a previous trade-off, specifically between the flexibility of printed electronics and functionality of conventional PCBs, and is thus rapidly gaining traction.
Advances in design for efficient redundancy
After a design review, PULS is replacing decoupling diodes with high-efficiency MOSFETs. The redesign of redundant power modules adds useful features, argues Marco van der Linden, UK country manager, PULS, capitalising on advances in reliable power system availability in the event of a short-circuit.
Necsel’s high power blue laser modules available
In addition to the extensive range of laser diodes and driver electronics available, LASER COMPONENTS has announced that it can supply high power compact semiconductor-based laser modules. The Blue-DE-44x series offers 445nm direct emitting blue laser light with a choice of output power of either 5.5 or 10W.
