DSEI 2019: Scalable oscilloscopes suit defence applications
With new 13GHz and 16GHz models, the R&S RTP high-performance oscilloscope family is now scalable from the 4GHz minimum up to the full 16GHz bandwidth. Additional new highlights are powerful debugging functions such as the high-speed serial pattern trigger using hardware-based clock-data-recovery (CDR) up to 16 Gbps, or the DDR4 signal integrity and compliance test.
EuMW 2019: System on module features in Paris
Comprehensive system-level capabilities that cover the entire RF and microwave spectrum will be showcased and demonstrated by Analog Devices at European Microwave Week 2019 in Paris (September 29 – October 4). The event takes place at a time of intense design activity in the RF/MW sector.
IZT prepares multiple solutons for IBC2019
At this year’s International Broadcasting Convention (IBC 2019) in Amsterdam (September 13 to 17) IZT is presenting solutions for digital radio systems as well as high-performance test and measurement products. Show highlights are new features for IT-based digital radio head-ends, a RF signal source with enhanced support for broadcast standards and equipment for virtual field tests.
MMIC power amplifier targets 5-6GHz RF-based designs
The QPA2308 MMIC power amplifier from Qorvo is in stock at Mouser Electronics. Engineered for commercial and military applications, the device provides high-power density and power-added efficiency for 5 to 6GHz radio frequency (RF)-based designs.
WiFi 6 guidelines released to assist cities with deployments
In preparation for the impending release of next-gen WiFi technology later this year, theWireless Broadband Alliance(WBA) has released a new whitepaper that provides deployment guidelines for a number of possible scenarios utilising WiFi 6 technology. With the recent whitepaper release, operators, enterprises and cities now have the tools needed to embrace and deploy WiFi 6 when it’s released later this year.
Expanding low power FPGA video and image processing solutions
Microchip, via its Microsemi subsidiary, has announced itsSmart Embedded Vision initiativethat provides solutions for designing intelligent machine vision systems with Microchip’s low power PolarFireField Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). With the recent announcement, Microchip extends its high resolution smart embedded vision FPGA offerings with new enhanced high speed imaging interfaces, an Intellectual Property (IP) bundle for image proc...
F interface calibration elements extended
Rosenberger has revised its product range of F-interface calibration elements. The improved characteristics are an extended frequency range from DC to four gigahertz up to DC to six gigahertz and doubling mating cycles from 500 to 1,000.
Compact 5G antenna tuning solution
Skyworks has introduced the SKY5−9269-702LF, a high performance antenna aperture tuning switch. The wideband 16-state device is extremely compact and designed to deliver efficiency and enhanced bandwidth coverage, from 600MHz to 6GHz for LTE Advanced Pro to emerging 5G standards, across a wide range of mobile platforms.
A look at 5G mmWave-focused absorber technologies
To enable the large increase in wireless data transfer needed for the new 5G wireless standard, spectrum in the millimeter wave range will be needed. There is simply not enough available spectrum in the sub 6GHz range. The millimeter wave range is largely unregulated with wide chunks of available bandwidth making it ideal for data transfer applications. By Paul Dixon, Staff Scientist, Laird Technologies.
Durable laser levels boast self-levelling pendulum
Availability of a series of PLS brand laser levels from Fluke has been announced by distributor RS Components. PLS (Pacific Laser Systems) became a Fluke company in 2015 and provides tools in a number of major European markets.
