Fanless 3.5 inch SBC with Intel Atom Cedar Trail increases performance and reduces power
The BVM Group has announced the LE-379, a 3.5 inch SBC based around the latest processors for embedded systems, the Intel Atom Cedar Trail next generation 32nm dual core family. Cedar Trail is available as the 1.86GHz D2550 with 3.5W Thermal Design Power, the 6.5W TDP 1.86GHz N2800 and the high performance 10W TDP 2.13GHz D2700.
Fanless barebone system from BVM
New from BVM is the CMB-374, a fanless barebone system is built around the LE-374 3.5in motherboard fitted with the Atom N270 ultra-low power processor running at 1.6GHz; mass storage can be added in the form of a 2.5” HDD or CompactFlash card. The unit offers low power consumption; the rugged enclosure of the unit acts as a heat sink as well as providing mechanical protection.
Fujitsu Claims First 1394 Automotive IC for HD Video
Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe has announced what it says is the world’s first ‘1394 Automotive’ controller IC that realises HD (1,280 dots x 720 lines) video transmission over the 1394 Automotive in-vehicle multimedia network protocol. The new IC, the MB88395, can transmit multiple streams simultaneously around the vehicle, such as HD video from Blu-ray DVDs, digital TV, and car navigation images.
