Diodes Incorporated wins Environmental Award
Diodes Incorporated won the Environmental Award at the annual Elektra Awards held in Munich on the eve of Electronica 2008. Now in their sixth year, the Elektra Awards are regarded as the most prestigious electronic product, technology and business awards in Europe and recognise the achievements of individuals and companies throughout the European Electronics industry.
MOSFET H-bridges optimise design of DC fans and inverters
A range of four H-bridge MOSFET packages from Diodes Incorporated is set to simplify DC fan and CCFL inverter circuits, by reducing both component count and PCB size in space constrained applications.
Diodes Incorporated introduces high frequency buck converter to save space and increase efficiency
The AP5100 step-down converter from Diodes Incorporated has been designed to bring space savings and efficiency improvements to set top box, modem and distributed power applications. Provided in the compact 6-pin SOT26 package, this low cost converter features a built-in power MOSFET and internal compensation to limit external component requirements.
Diodes Incorporated releases first product in thermally enhanced powerdi5060 package
The DMP3010LPS 30V rated p-channel enhancement mode MOSFET from Diodes Incorporated is the first device to be released by the company in its unique powerDI5060 package, offering designers of notebooks, netbooks and other consumer electronics improvements in reliability and reductions in pcb space requirements.
Diodes Incorporated Reduces MOSFET Off-board Height by 50%
Diodes Incorporated has launched a line of high-efficiency N- and P-channel MOSFETs in low-profile DFN2020-6 packages. With an off-board height of only 0.4mm and a footprint of 4mm2, the DFN2020H4 packaged DMP2039UFDE4, a -25V rated P-channel device, is 50% thinner than competing devices. The other MOSFETs in the series are provided in the 0.5mm high DFN2020E package, which is 20% thinner than the common 0.6mm high alternatives.
28V synchronous buck power converter has wide input range
Semtech Corp has announced the SC4612, a 28V synchronous buck power converter with a wide input range and a programmable 1.2 MHz frequency for compact power supply designs. It is a voltage-mode synchronous, PWM controller that operates in a 4.5V to 28V input voltage range and drives external N-channel MOSFETs.
Semtech Claims First Dual-Channel Step-Down Controller for DrMOS Power Devices
Semtech has announced the SC2447, said to be the industry’s first DC-DC step-down (buck) controller for DrMOS power devices. The SC2447 is a 1MHz synchronous PWM buck controller designed to drive DrMOS power devices in compact, high-efficiency DC-DC power converters for telecom, datacom, switches, routers, and other high-end applications. The dual-channel SC2447 can produce two independent outputs of up to 30A each or a single high-current out...
Cree - 650V Silicon Carbide Schottky Diodes Improve Advanced High-Efficiency Data Center Power Supply Designs
Targeting the latest data center power supply requirements, Cree, Inc. announced its new line of Z-Rec 650V Junction Barrier Schottky (JBS) diodes. The new JBS diodes provide blocking voltage to 650V to accommodate recent changes in data center power architecture that industry consultants estimate will result in energy efficiency gains of up to 5 percent. Because data centers account for nearly 10 percent of the world’s annual consumption of el...
MAX17127: Highly integrated six-string WLED driver for notebooks and netbooks
Maxim introduced the MAX17127, a six-string WLED driver that provides a complete backlighting solution for notebooks and netbooks. The high-performance step-up controller integrates a 48V MOSFET capable of driving up to 13 LEDs/string. This integration reduces BOM cost and saves board space by eliminating an external MOSFET. The step-up controller frequency can be programmed from 250kHz to 1MHz, allowing flexibility in selecting external compone...
