It was a tough week for Nuremberg Messe, the organisers of embedded world 2020. There’s not a trade exhibition on the planet that can afford to lose 200 exhibitors and over half of its visitors and come up smelling roses.
Duo combine for high-speed digital interface testing
Developments in advanced driver-assistance systems are creating a new approach to in-vehicle network architecture design. With today’s vehicles leveraging at least a hundred ECUs, the current network architecture has reached its limits.
Collaboration advances GNSS testing
A collaboration between AVL and Rohde & Schwarz, now permits the reproduction of realistic GNSS reception conditions for testbed vehicle testing. As a result, users can reliably test all aspects of GNSS-based vehicle positioning – a core functionality of autonomous vehicles.
Test chamber meets 5G NR OTA needs
IoT solutions provider Sierra Wireless has selected the compact antenna test range (CATR)-based R&S ATS1800C for mmWave frequencies (FR2) testing. The transportable solution from Rohde & Schwarz features a golden CATR reflector with rolled edges and a very smooth surface to minimise scattering and to provide precise measurement results as required for operation at high frequencies.

Conformity assessment: The safe path to a successful C-V2X roll out
Over the past decades the introduction of seat belts, airbags, and vehicle crumple zones have made a massive contribution to saving lives on our roads, writes Holger Rosier of Rohde & Schwarz. Today’s advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and future autonomous driving solutions will go some way to further driving down the number of incidents on our highways, but they remain limited in their impact without access to the collective in...
Getting ADAS from the lab to the tarmac
In recent years radar has established itself as a technology of increasing importance within the vehicle. Thanks to the efforts of the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP), assistance systems such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) are reflected in vehicle safety scores. This, along with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and other technologies, rely upon at least one long-range radar and will utilise further short-range radars.
