SKF signs a long term contract with Valeo for supply to the new i-StARS
SKF, has signed a three-year contract worth around €3.5 million with Valeo to supply SKF Rotor Positioning Bearings for the new i-StARS, Valeos stop-start system. i-StARS automatically cuts off the vehicle’s engine when slowing down under 8 km/h, for instance, when stopping for a red light. The system enables further reduction in CO2 emissions and even less fuel consumption compared to the first generation StARS.
Parker Launches New Desalinators for Reliable Fresh Water Supply
The Racor Division of Parker Hannifin, has launched its latest range of reverse osmosis watermakers that have been developed to offer fresh water independence in marine applications across the globe. The new simple to use Village Marine LT Series desalinators provide a reliable supply of fresh water for drinking, ice, showers, dishwashers and laundry onboard working marine vessels, and luxury yachts, where dock water supplies are unreliable
Jupiter magnetostrictive level transmitter
The fastest and most efficient way to upgrade a magnetic level indicator is to clamp a Jupiter 200 magnetostrictive level transmitter onto its by-pass cage. The installation can be performed under process conditions and without any modification of the installed equipment.
CABLE CLAMPS COMBINE CLEVER DESIGN WITH EASE OF ASSEMBLY
The simple yet clever design of Polyamide cable clamps from M Buttkereit Ltd continue to gain the approval of control system integrators, machine builders and panel builders across a growing number of UK industries. Up to 600 N Driving Force at 20 mm Travel: High-load Linear Actuators for Nanopositioning
Piezoceramic stepping drives which combine large travel ranges with resolutions of better than 1 nm (0.001 µm) open up many application areas in nanopositioning. This includes semiconductor manufacturing, testing equipment and wafer inspection as well as nanolithography or nanometrology and active vibration control, e.g. in mechanical engineering. Because precision drives are very reliable, they are used directly there where the motion is requir...

Climbing Mountains for Charity
At 6:15am we all stood at the top of Wales. We all felt amazing. The two hours climb had been worth it as the views were spectacular. We were above the clouds and had felt the sun rise on our backs as we climbed. Unbeknown to us, snow had fallen on Snowdon the night before and it was cold. Thankfully, the snow had disappeared, although the ground untouched by the rising sun was coated in a thick frost.
