Taking a look at the circular economy and motor repair industry
Did you know, the average European uses 16 tonnes of resources a year, and only 40% of that is recycled? This is clearly not sustainable, so the idea of the Circular Economy was born to help us to move away from this situation. Dr Hugh Falkner looks into how the repair industry is central to the Circular Economy.
Video protocol analyser manages multiple embedded streams
By adding multi stream capabilities,Great River Technology's Video and Protocol Analyser (VPA) makes it easier to develop advanced capabilities of the ARINC 818 Avionics Digital Video Bus.Multi Stream empowers the VPA to tackle ARINC 818 interfaces with multiple embedded streams of high-speed video. For example, a system designer sending multiple sensor streams over a single cable can use it to study each component stream separately.

Artificial photosynthesis for greener ethylene production
A team of scientists from the National University of Singapore (NUS) has developed a prototype device that mimics natural photosynthesis to produce ethylene gas using only sunlight, water and carbon dioxide. The novel method, which produces ethylene at room temperature and pressure using benign chemicals, could be scaled up to provide a more eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to the current method of ethylene production.
Driverless cars coming to a city near you in 2019
There's a reason there are consumer autonomous systems already being rolled out for highway driving without an equivalent for city driving. Cars on a highway behave rationally for the most part, which makes it easier for the artificial intelligence that controls an autonomous system to operate since it is programmed logically.
