Software upgrade cuts 4K and UHDTV1 hardware costs
To eliminate the need for customers to purchase costly hardware replacements in order to shoot, prepare and deliver 4K/UHDTV1 programming Tektronix has developed software to enable its WFM8200 and WFM8300 waveform monitors and WVR8200 and WVR8300 rasterisers to be upgraded to support 4K and UHDTV1.
Software supports P25 transmitter compliance testing
A cost-effective compliance transmitter test solution for the Project 25 (P25) Common Air Interface (CAI) Phase 1 and Phase 2 standard has been introduced by Tektronix. The new software gives RF test engineers and safety agencies push-button measurements with automated pass/fail reporting and runs on Tektronix spectrum analysers, Tektronix Windows-based oscilloscopes, and on SignalVu-PC linked with the MDO4000B Mixed Domain Oscilloscope Series.

1951 oscilloscope wins Tektronix competition
A UK-based collector of Tektronix oscilloscopes has won the test and measurement giant’s competition to find the oldest working oscilloscope in Europe. The winner, chosen from 240 entries, is Alan Ainslie, from Farnham in Surrey, with his Model 511AD manufactured in 1951. He wins an MDO4000 Series Mixed Domain Oscilloscope worth €20,700, one of the newest oscilloscopes in the Tektronix portfolio.
