Lossless zero-cross detection in LinkSwitch-TNZ ICs
Power Integrationshas announcedLinkSwitch-TNZ, a new switching power supply IC that combines offline power conversion, lossless zero-cross detection and, optionally, X-capacitor discharge functions in a compact SO-8C package. The highly efficient LinkSwitch-TNZ IC can be used for non-isolated buck and buck-boost power supplies up to 575mA output current and provides up to 12W output for universal-input isolated flyback designs.
Smaller profile circuit protection TVS components
ProTek Devices has introduced a series of high-powered surface mount TVS components for circuit protection from electromagnetic field, lightning, and other electrical fast transients in high power applications. These new devices for motors and relays are provided in that industry’s lowest-profile packaging compared with competing solutions.
High power switching on PCB webinar announced
On June 10th, live in the recently opened Panasonic Campus Munich, Panasonic Industry and Vogel Communications / Elektronik Praxis are inviting you to a dedicated hybrid event spotlighting on the relevance, challenges and opportunities of high power switching directly on the PCB.
How to make sense of big data with RTUs
Deploying RTUs on industrial assets is an important element of capturing, interpreting and using big data from an industrial process. In this article, Jean Burton, technical sales support manager at Ovarro, has looked at how RTUs play a key role in accessing big data, helping improve situational awareness, security, productivity, safety and operations.
Checking-in on remote assets
With broadcast’s geographically spread assets and multiple process that all generate massive amounts of data, key to ensuring these improvements is being able to capture and interpret it in real time. In this article, Philippe Aretz, Channel Sales Director at Ovarro, previously Servelec Technologies, explains why the deployment of remotetelemetry unit(RTU) andSCADAsystems has been essential to support the roll out of mobile communications a...
The right components to protect devices, users and patients
The use of non-laboratory, patient-contact diagnostic and life-sustaining medical equipment continues to increase. Reasons include an ageing population, heightened care expectations among patients, and improvements in medical electronics technology which make such systems more practical. Such equipment needs protection against multiple types of electrical issues that can harm the equipment, hospital staff, and patients. Rich Miron, Applications E...
High-power photovoltaic MOSFET drivers released
Modern industrial automation solutions, energy systems and professional equipment are often extremely specialised devices that require high safety and design flexibility for switching elements like semiconductor relays. A photovoltaic driver for galvanic separation in combination with a distinct MOSFET power switch leaves nothing to be desired.
600V CoolMOS S7 MOSFETs for static switching applications
Infineon Technologies has announced that it is enhancing the600V CoolMOS S7family with two new optimised devices for static switching applications: the industrial-grade CoolMOS S7 10mΩ and the automotive-grade CoolMOS S7A.
Pickering redesigns reed relay datasheets range
Pickering Electronics has completely revamped thedatasheetsof its entire range of reed relays, providing more information in a clearer format with interactive links to further useful content. New information includes additional environmental specs, mechanical characteristics and relay weights, plus RF plots for coaxial relays, showing VSWR, isolation and insertion loss.
600V CoolMOS S7 family expanded with MOSFETs
In applications where MOSFETs are switched at low frequency, high-power product designs must meet several key characteristics: They have to minimise conduction losses, provide optimal thermal behavior, and enable more compact and lighter systems – all while maintaining the highest quality at a low cost.
