MOSFET controller from Diodes Incorporated raises efficiency of AC-DC converters
Diodes Incorporated has announced a synchronous MOSFET controller for driving a MOSFET in place of a Schottky diode in the secondary side of flyback and resonant converters. Designed to maximize circuit efficiency and help achieve Energy Star product ratings, ZXGD3103N8 enables designers to reduce rectifier losses by up to 70% and increase power supply efficiency by up to 3.5%.
Diodes extends logic family with open drain parts
Diodes Incorporated has extended its family of single-gate logic products with the introduction of open drain functions in both standard and enhanced performance versions. Direct replacements for industry standard parts, the devices are suitable for voltage level shifting, active low wired OR, and active high wired AND applications. The 74LVC1G06, 74LVC1G07, 74LVCE1G06 and 74LVCE1G07 parts are available in SOT25 and SOT353 packages.
Rectifiers from Diodes Incorporated increase efficiency and reduce form factor
Diodes has expanded its portfolio of patented Super Barrier Rectifiers (SBR) with the introduction of 12A and 15A rated devices in the compact PowerDI5 package. As the output rectifiers in space limited SMPS design, the SBRs are characterized by an ultra low forward voltage drop that delivers better efficiency and cooler operation than standard Schottky rectifiers.
Diodes Inc - Smallest full-feature single-chip solution for smart fan motor driver applications
Diodes Inc. has introduced the industry’s smallest fully featured single-chip fan driver with high-output drive capability to provide a cost-effective solution for fan and motor drive applications.
USB power switches with improved power dissipation and smaller footprint
Expanding on the AP21x1/x2 family, the AP21x6 family of dual USB power switches are said to offer a reduced footprint, improved switch on-resistance and better power dissipation than competing devices. These integrated high-side power switches are optimized for self-powered and bus-powered Universal Serial Bus (USB) and other hot-swap applications.
Semtech’s Newest 3.3V Protection Device Offers Simplified Design-in
Semtech announces the uClamp™3304A, a 3.3V electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection device with the performance needed for next-generation portable designs, and packaged in an ultra small SC-89 package that is pin compatible with 5V protection devices for a simplified board design.
High Speed Data Interfaces Protected
Semtech's RClamp0504N, a 5.0V protection device aimed at next-generation monitors, laptops, television set top boxes and networking equipment using high-speed I/O protocols, measures just 2.0 x 2.0 x 0.6 mm.
Two-Line Protection Device for Next-Generation DSL Equipment
Semtech Corp has announced the RClamp™7002M, a two-line secondary protection device designed for use in ADSL and other wide area networking (WAN) equipment.
Maxim's Single-Conversion Silicon Tuner Enables Superior Reception of Analog and Digital TV Broadcasts
Maxim has introduced the MAX3542 single-conversion silicon tuner for hybrid (analog and digital) applications. This device employs a single downconversion step from RF to 36MHz to provide artifact-free reception of analog signals and high-quality reception of digital signals. Competing solutions use either a dual-conversion architecture that requires two external filters or a direct-to-low-IF scheme that suffers from poor image rejection.
MAX14885E: Fully integrated VGA crossover switch increases bandwidth and ESD protection for switchable-graphics applications
Maxim introduced the MAX14885E, a complete 2:2 VGA crossover switch that boosts the performance of switchable-graphics applications. This device routes signals from the internal VGA or add-in graphics chip to either the docking station or the VGA port on the notebook. The device's low 6.5pf (typ) on-capacitance and 5ohm on-resistance enable it to provide 2x more bandwidth (up to 700MHz) than existing solutions.
