SmartEdge Agile, a low power, IoT ready-to-use device developed through a partnership between Avnet, Octonion and ST Microelectronics is in stock at Farnell element14. The first in a new category called “Meta-Sensing”, SmartEdge Agile includes nine sensors, and provides design engineers with the ability to implement artificial intelligence (AI) at the edge through an easy-to-use, zero-code interface.

At this year’s electronica trade fair, Avnet Silica, an Avnet company, will participate as part of the joint Avnet EMEA presence located in Hall C5, Stand 101. The company will showcase its advanced semiconductor-based solutions, and as one of four major business units on the stand, together will demonstrate the broad competences of Avnet’s unique ecosystem.

A series of advanced technology demonstrations, in conjunction with two of its leading suppliers, Xilinx and ON Semiconductor, will be centre stage for Avnet Silica at Vision 2018 in Stuttgart (November 6-8). The company’s stand will showcase AI and deep learning technologies, and will include six key demonstrations.

Avnet Abacus will participate at this year’s electronica in Munich (November 13-16) as part of a consolidated Avnet EMEA presence. Avnet Abacus is one of four major business units that will each host a dedicated area of the stand, demonstrating the capabilities and support provided by the Avnet ecosystem.

Avnet Silica will join forces with Farnell element14 at the Electronic Design Show in Coventry (October 17-18) to showcase Avnet’s end-to-end ecosystem which provides customers with support at every stage of the product lifecycle (Stand G42). Visitors will see an Avnet Silica demo station dedicated to hardware development kits tailored by its applications team.

For the first time at electronica, Avnet EMEA will present its European business units at one consolidated exhibition space. In addition to the expertise of its individual business units, Avnet will also demonstrate the capabilities of its ecosystem. Avnet EMEA, its business units Avnet Silica, EBV Elektronik and Avnet Abacus; and Farnell element14, the European business of Premier Farnell, are located in HallC5, Stand101.

The AFG31000 Arbitrary Function Generator from Tektronix is in stock at Farnell element14. It is designed for the demanding performance expectations throughout the product realisation process. The instrument incorporates a 9-inch capacitive touch display and a shallow menu tree that make locating and changing settings quicker, whilst also making browsing easier.

It has been announced that Avnet Silica has received the ‘Distributor of the Year’ award from Nordic Semiconductor ASA, a fabless semiconductor company specialising in ultra-low power (ULP) and low power wireless communication. The ‘Distributor of the Year’ award was presented to Avnet Silica at Nordic’s recent annual sales conference.

Adesto Technologies and Premier Farnell have signed a global distribution agreement. The franchise provides OEM customers with access to Adesto’s complete portfolio of ultra-low power non-volatile memory (NVM) products, with support provided through Premier Farnell’s sales, technical and product management resources.
