Visible red LED emitters for high-accuracy sensing
Marktech Optoelectronics has announced the global market introduction of the Model MTE6063M-UHR, a new family of visible red LED emitters, designed to provide high-accuracy, high-reliability sensing within a variety of applications. The MTE6063M-UHR offers high output power, typically 27.5mW, along with a wide radiation pattern, and a peak emission wavelength of 630nm.
Easily configurable incremental rotary encoder
The newly released ENI58PL series incremental rotary encoder from Pepperl+Fuchs offers efficiency for a wide range of applications. IO-Link enables custom configuration, making it possible to commission machinery and equipment even faster. ENI58PL boasts flexible configuration options and a wide range of use cases-from classic industrial applications, to special engineering.
Modular angle encoder with circular scale variants
A new family of optical scanning angle encoders has been developed by HEIDENHAIN for demanding applications requiring constant speed control or high positional stability. The modular design of the ERP 1000 encoders includes numerous circular scale variants and HEIDENHAIN’s HSP 1.0 signal processing ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit), its first ever use in an angle rather than a linear encoder.
Drylin delta robot is now on tour up and down the country
With live performances at business venues up and down the UK and Ireland the igus drylin delta robot is now officially on tour. It has already visited Aberdeen and Bristol and, in Ireland, Dublin and Galway but fear not – further dates the next three months are scheduled in the East Midlands, Gloucestershire, Wales and the South East.
Live 8K video transmits using 5G with television station in France
NEC Corporation has announced the successful transmission of live 8K video using 5G at an international tennis tournament recently held in Paris, France. This demonstration was carried out in cooperation with France's largest television station, France Televisions, and 8K broadcasting equipment manufacturers.
SCARA robot family boosts speed, versatility, and uptime
Yamaha Motor Europe Factory Automation Section, has continued to extend its SCARA family. The YK-XG and YK-TW orbital SCARA series are available arm lengths now range from just 120 to 1200mm, and maximum payload from one to 50kg, to accelerate a wide variety of pick and place, packaging/de-packaging, and mechanical assembly tasks.
Broad portfolio of M8/M12 connectors
Over the last three decades, the M8/M12 connector system from ERNI has established itself as well suited for use in harsh industrial environments that require a reliable, robust connection solution for fieldbus, sensor and Ethernet connections. With different numbers of pins, male and female connectors, connector configurations and coding as well as shielded versions, the connectors cover a range of applications.
Java-on-a-Chip for fast controller development
The availability of Java on a Chip (JoC), a small Java-programmable module designed and made by demmel (Austria) for industrial use, has been announced by Saelig Company. Java on a Chip (JoC) is a Java-programmable module, designed for innovative smart applications. The highly integrated Java-programmable JoC Module can replace conventional microcontroller electronics, minimise programming and development time, and simplify hardware design.
Understanding the encoder resolution
An incremental rotary encoder can be used to measure rotational direction, speed and angular displacement. The encoder generates two output channels as it rotates, A and B. Each output is a square wave, and in a quadrature encoder, the two outputs are 90° out of phase. By Jason Kelly, Motion Control Design and Applications Engineer, CUI Devices
Microcontroller options for servo control in industrial robots
Renesas Electronics hasintroduced the RX72T Group of 32-bit motor control microcontrollers (MCUs) with dedicated hardware accelerator IP to perform the complex, high speed computations required for motor control in robots and other industrial equipment. The RX72T Group delivers performance, achieving an 1160 CoreMark score as measured by EEMBCBenchmarks (Note 1) - the highest level for a 5V MCU operating at 200MHz.
