Intersil HDMI multiplexers reconstruct weak or impaired HDMI and DVI signals for maximum compatibility in video systems
Intersil has introduced a family of timing regenerators and multiplexers for HDMI and DVI applications. The ISL54100, ISL54101, and ISL54102 are the only TMDS (Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) solutions on the market that perform both retiming and input switching in a single chip.
10-bit video digitizer from Intersil
Intersil Corporation has introduced the ISL51002, the industry’s most sophisticated 10-bit video digitizer. This device combines ease-of-use and high-resolution video performance to create the ideal choice for digitizing analogue YPbPr video from HDTV tuners, set-top boxes, SD and HD DVDs, as well as RGB graphics signals from personal computers and workstations.
Intersil appoints Masato Nozaki as vice president of Japan Sales
Intersil, a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analogue semiconductors, has appointed Masato Nozaki in the position of vice president of Sales, Japan, located at Intersil’s sales office in Yokohama, Japan.
Convection cooled 150W power supply offers up to 6.9Win³ power density
XP Power has announced availability of the SDS150, a compact, high density, convection cooled power supply that is ideally suited to IT and industrial applications where space is at a premium and there are no internal fans. Both open frame and U channel models can be used in 1U customer applications. The open frame model, 76 x 127 x 36 mm (3 x 5 x 1.44 inches), offers the highest power density of 6.9 watts per cubic inch and the U channel, 81 x 1...
Autorouter and layout device generator from Tanner EDA speeds up analogue and mixed-signal ASIC design
EDA Solutions has announced the availability of version 14.0 of Tanner EDA’s Tanner Tools Pro and HiPer Silicon design software, including a new interactive autorouter, SDL Router, and a layout device generator, DevGen. Both these additions increase designers’ productivity and speed up development of full custom analogue IC and MEMS design.
Tensilica’s ConnX BBE16 DSP IP Core for Digital Baseband Signal Processing Licensed to Renesas Electronics
Tensilica, Inc. today announced that the ConnX BBE16 DSP (digital signal processing) IP (intellectual property) core has been licensed to Renesas Electronics Corporation for upcoming products for digital TVs.
Driver family meets demands of next generation LEDs
A family of three flexible LED Drivers from Zetex Semiconductors provides designers with the performance needed by the next generation of high brightness LEDs. The ZXLD132X inductive DC-DC converter series drive single or multiple LEDs with currents from 700mA through to 1.5A, in buck, boost and buck/boost configurations. Housed in a tiny 3mm x 4mm DFN package, the drivers can reduce the circuit footprint of existing solutions by up to 50%.
Rectifier controller from Zetex said to optimise flyback converter design
Zetex Semiconductors has introduced a dedicated rectifier controller for driving MOSFETs so that they perform as ‘ideal diodes’ in synchronous flyback converters ranging from 50 to 150W. The ZXGD3101 enables designers to replace lossy Schottky diodes with surface mount MOSFETs to achieve higher efficiency, less heat generation, a reduction in power supply size and weight and a simplification of overall circuit design.
Chipset for MR16-compatible LED lamps
Zetex Semiconductors has developed a dedicated chipset and reference design for MR16-compatible LED lamps. Reducing the component count of existing solutions by up to 50%, the chipset significantly decreases the size and weight of the PCB in the neck of the lamp and the overall cost of lamp manufacture.
Prime Minister visits Zetex
Tony Blair has visited Zetex Semiconductor’s Oldham Headquarters during a fact-finding trip to the North West of England. He was accompanied on a one hour tour of the Zetex Technology Park by Zetex Chief Executive Officer Hans Rohrer.
