Aerotech's engineered motion sub-system is selected for ultra-precision plate scanner at the Royal Observatory of Belgium
The DAMIAN ultra-precision scanning system at the Royal Observatory of Belgium (ROB) fulfils a significant part of a global programme for the digitisation of astrometric plates and aerial photographic images that span over a century and has shaped our understanding of the world, the solar system and the universe. With more than three million plate images estimated in the astronomical community alone, the programme was borne out of a need to provi...
Parker torque motors replace gearboxes to cut costs and boost efficiency
The latest range of torque motors from Parker Hannifin has been designed to help end users of heavy duty industrial machinery replace traditional motor and gearbox mechanisms with a highly efficient direct drive system. Used in conjunction with Parker’s variable speed drives, the new torque motors are intended primarily for use with plastics and rubber extrusion machines, and with injection moulding, mixing, crushing and winding equipment; ...
Heason Awarded Contract for Nanometre Multiaxis Manipulator
Heason Technology has been awarded a £ ¼ million order by Synchrotron Soleil, the French national synchrotron facility and research laboratory. Heason are to design and manufacture four nanopositioning manipulators that combine as a 14 axis ultra-high vacuum and low magnetic motion system to position samples and optics for an exciting new soft x-ray scanning photoemission microscope project called ANTARES.
Flexsys see payback on GEM traps in just five months
Ruabon Works is making steam savings of 12% from its batch reactor following the installation of Gardner Energy Management’s GEM Venturi Orifice steam traps. Following the success of this initial installation, which provided Flexsys with a payback in only five months, the company has installed GEM steam traps on a condensate recovery project and is now retrospectively fitting GEM traps across the site.
Venturi steam trap produced for flange applications
Energy savings of up to 55% are achievable by steam users using Thermal Energy International Inc’s GEM Ruby steam trap range. A development of GEM’s award winning venturi steam trap, the Ruby has been specifically produced for flange applications.
Bates Laundry on course to save 14% in fuel cots following Gem Trap Installation
Bates Laundry in Leyton, East London is predicting savings of £104,000 per annum on its £750,000 annual gas bill following the replacement of its mechanical steam traps with the award winning Thermal Energy International Inc’s GEM Venturi orifice traps. GEM , a division of Thermal Energy International Inc, has installed 85 GEM traps throughout the laundry, providing Bates Laundry with a payback in less than 7-months on energy savings alone.
Thermal Energy International’S Gem Traps Provide 9.4% Energy Savings At Servizi Ospedalieri, Italy
Servizi Ospedalieri, is fulfilling its environmental pledge of reducing energy usage by installing the award winning GEM venturi orifice traps from Thermal Energy International. Trialled through Thermal Energy International’s Italian agent, Nuova Folati, at Servizi Ospedalieri’s plant in Porto Garibaldi, the laundry’s independent, technical assessors, IMAT S.r.l. of Rome, was able to verify that GEM steam traps have provided close to a 10...
