World’s First LED-based High-Intensity System to be Installed on 1,200-foot Tower in North Carolina; Long-Life LEDS Dramatically Reduce Maintenance Cost, Risk of Fines and Energy Consumption
STEVAL-ILL023V1 demonstration board from STMicroelectronics
The STEVAL-ILL023V1 demonstration board is based on the L6726A single phase PWM controller, with two external MOSFETS for synchronous rectification.
LED Task Light Reference Design
Designing a SSL linear fixture that exceeds linear fluorescent performance, is cost competitive, and satisfies Energy Star performance criteria requires a system level design approach. By this, we mean that all four system level elements, LED selection, Secondary Optics, SSL Driver Selection/Performance, and Thermal Management must be taken into consideration. NXP, Cree, and Brightview teamed up to design an Under-Cabinet SSL fixture that exc...
LUXEON Rebel Color Portfolio Provides Leading in-Application Performance
New deep red color with a wavelength of 650-670 nanometers supports horticulture, signaling and entertainment applications.
LEDs and Heat: Managed or Micromanaged?
All of the focus on thermal management of light emitting diodes raises the question: is it always worth the cost? For LEDs, every penny must be applied efficiently. The benefits of lower junction temperature are well known, but there is a tipping point between investing additional product cost in thermal management and getting a return on that investment. Good thermal management starts with clear product and application definition.
Color On Demand LEDs available from American Opto Plus LED Corp.
Special Color requests are solved by using licensed color phosphors. Controlled by production technique, this method can produce almost any color in the visual spectrum.
Drives 1 high brightness LED at a constant current of 1000 mA from 5V to 30V input.
The LM3485 design is a buck regulator derived controlled current source designed to drive high power, high brightness LEDs (HBLEDs) at a constant current of 1.0A. The design can accept an input voltage ranging from 5V to 30V and can control the output current delivered to series and/or parallel arrays of HBLEDs as long as the forward voltage of all the LEDs in series is less than 0.9 x Vin. The accuracy of the output current is +-10%.
New E27 bulb from Optogan: Launch of design lamp made in Europe
The Optogan Group releases its first original domestic LED lamp on the Russian market. The E27 bulb was designed in cooperation with the design studio art.lebedev to replace the 60W incandescent bulb. Made of state-of-the-art technology, consisting of German-Russian components, the E27 lamp has features on par with the best of world standards.
LED Engin announces narrow beam lens and emitter combinations that cut fixture size by more than 50%
LED Engin, Inc announces the introduction of two arrow-angle TIR (Total Internal Reflection) high efficiency lenses for the company’s high flux LuxiGen LZC- and LZP- series emitters. The proprietary 8-degree narrow spot lens and 15-degree spot lens are designed for use with LED Engin’s compact, high flux density LZC (12-die) and LZP (24-die) LuxiGen emitters.
