High-definition microstepping motor driver
A new 50V/5A rated bipolar stepping motor driver that supports 1/128 microstepping has been announced by Toshiba Electronics Europe (Toshiba). The new TB67S128FTG meets the often conflicting requirements of high speed, high performance and reduced power consumption.
Next-gen superjunction power MOSFETs support drain currents
Toshiba Electronics has launched a new series of next-gen 650V power MOSFETs that are intended for use in server power supplies in data centres, solar (PV) power conditioners, Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) and other industrial applications.
High-speed MCUs with multiple packages and memory sizes
Toshiba has announced the launch of the second M3H group in the TXZfamily of low-power, high-speed microcontrollers based on the ArmCortex-M3 core.Toshiba launched the first M3H Group with 30 products for consumer and industrial device applications in May 2016, as the first group in the TXZfamily. The newly launched second M3H group is again based on the de facto industry standard Arm Cortex-M3 core for embedded systems and offers greater perform...
Industry’s first SSD using 96-layer 3D flash memory
Toshiba Electronics Europe has introduced a new lineup of solid state drives (SSDs) that are based on its 96-layer, BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory. Reportedly the first SSD to use this technology, the new XG6 series is targeted to the client PC, high performance mobile, embedded, and gaming segments, as well as datacentre environments for boot drives in servers, caching and logging, and commodity storage.
UL 508 certification for eight photorelays obtained
It has been announced that Toshiba Electronics Europe (Toshiba) has obtained approval to the industrial safety standard UL 508 and the UL product category NRNT for a total of eight photorelay products. The devices are also UL 1577 compliant and approved for use as industrial control switch and as solid state control devices for non-motor rated loads.
Three-phase brushless motor controller enables easy switching
Toshiba Electronics has announced the launch of a new three-phase brushless fan motor controller IC for white goods that realises high efficiency drive and noise reduction. Conventionally, motor control is carried out by a microcontroller and an 8-pole rotor using a rotation-control signal that delivers three pulses per cycle.
High current photorelays in DIP4 package
It has been announced that Toshiba Electronics Europe (Toshiba) has launched two new high current photorelays that are fabricated using the latest U-MOS IX semiconductor process.
Contamination-free automation
Humans shed and re-grow outer skin cells every 27 days, equating to around 1,000 new skins in an average human’s lifetime. Even in a clean room environment, a worker will shed 600,000 particles of skin per hour. With this flakiness in mind, Nigel Smith, managing director of Toshiba Machine partner, TM Robotics, explained how clean room robots can eradicate the risk of human contamination.
Compact power MOSFET gate driver intelligent power device
Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced the availability of a compact power MOSFET gate driver intelligent power device (IPD) for automotive 3-phase brushless motors. The device is intended for use in automotive motor drive applications such as 12V electronic power steering (EPS), oil/water pumps, fan motors and electric turbochargers.Toshiba’s IPD products provide protection for high-side and low-side power switches – especially val...
96-layer BiCS FLASH development with QLC technology
Toshiba Memory Europe has announced that it has developed a prototype sample of a 96-layer BiCS FLASH, memory device using its proprietary 3D flash quad level cell (QLC) technology that boosts single-chip memory capacity.QLC technology is pushing the bit count for data per memory cell from three to four, expanding capacity. The new product achieves the industry's maximum capacity of 1.33Tb for a single chip and was jointly developed with Western ...
