Low voltage DC servo motors redefine performance expectations
INMOCO has launched a series of low voltage DC servo motors to meet the need of new and emerging applications in robotics, automated guided vehicles (AGV), medical equipment and other fields. Made in the US as an extension to Kollmorgen’s AKM2G portfolio of servo motors the new low voltage range includes 24Vdc, 48Vdc, 72Vdc and 96Vdc units as standard, with options to go up to 105Vdc.
Flexible interpolation IC debuts at SPS in Nuremberg
iC-Haus will debut a 26-bit encoder signal processor iC-TW29 with integrated EEPROM at the SPS exhibition in Nuremberg (November 26-28). It is used for the evaluation of magnetic and optical sensors that generate sine and cosine signals.
Deliver drop-in replacements for hard-to-source motors
With a number of manufacturers having dropped the availability of DC servo motors from their catalogues, designers of critical equipment in areas such as medical, military and industrial applications have had to face the prospect of rethinking their designs around an alternative motor.
Robust position sensor features self-calibration
A high precision position sensor that offers more robust performance than existing absolute encoders and better resolution and accuracy than traditional Hall effect sensors for industrial robotics and other demanding applications has been released by Vishay Intertechnology.
RF connectors support data transfer rates up to 12Gbps
Amphenol RF 12G MCX Connectors have been added to New Yorker Electronics’ lineup of 12G optimised Amphenol RF connectors. Designed specifically for 4K/Ultra-HD broadcast applications, they are used largely in 4K/8K video cameras, mobile broadcasting, digital signage and other state-of-the-art video applications.
Switches, keypads and joysticks sent to Coventry
The Engineering Design Show in Coventry (October 16-17) will be used by EAO to showcase is latest HMI switches, CANbus keypads and rotary controllers. Visitors will also see CAN bus LCD displays, encoders and rotary switches from Grayhill and collong fans, stepper motors and drivers from Sanyo Denki.
Second generation of safety
SPS Nuremberg represents KOLLMORGEN as a sign of complete drive solutions, including for the growing demand for collaborative robots and automated guided vehicles. The AKM2G-series servo motors were therefore also expanded for applications in the low-voltage sector. Also a topic at the three-day automation trade fair: the second-generation functional safety technology, which has found its way into the AKD2G series servo inverters.
Predictive maintenance reduces cost the smart way
Preventing unscheduled down-time is one of the most effective cost reduction measures in any production environment. Mitsubishi Electric offers practical solutions for both machine tools and robots.
25-bit absolute encoder for linear and hollow through application
The Broadcom AR35 Series offers 25-bit absolute encoder with a small form-fit factor to maximise the motion feedback system flexibility.
Advanced elbow scanner added to rental fleet
Ashtead Technology has added the Olympus FlexoFORM pipe elbow scanner to its rental fleet of Non Destructive Testing equipment. “This is part of a major investment in our NDT fleet,” said NDT Market Manager Steve Drake. “The FlexoFORM is an extremely important addition because it complements our other pipe inspection equipment and provides a solution for many particularly challenging applications.
