Wireless power coils for wearables are now available from Würth Elektronik. The company are offering two transmitter coils and three receiver coils which are adapted to the already existing standard chip sets for the WPC Qi standard, making it easy to use already available designs by exchanging the coils for wearables.

The STAR-FIX and STAR-GAPsnap ferrites are among the best-known products from Würth Elektronik eiSos. Many innovative details of the split ferrite cores are protected by patents for additional interference suppression. Now the cable prefixing has been patented, which thanks to a special conduction, prevents the cable from jamming during assembly.

The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has made two draft specifications available to its members that extend the capabilities of the Qi wireless power standard.The first extension of the Qi specification, called Volume II: Medium Power, enables fast charging of smart phones with up to 15W delivered into the battery.
Complete capacitor range channeled through distribution

The new products complement Würth Elektronik’s electromechanical, magnetic and other passive articles already sold by the distributor. High-frequency applications, especially in the area of radio technology, require air coils with a particularly high Q-factor. Targeting current market requirements for this area of applications, Würth Electronik has expanded its portfolio of WE-CAIR air coils with design types 1322 and 1340. These types are one-third flatter than the current series of products.
