Debug support announced for µCLinux on Cortex-M3/M4
µCLinux on Cortex-M3/M4 microprocessors is now supported by Lauterbach'sTRACE32 tools. The TRACE32 tools also enable the off-chip trace for Cortex-M to be extended from DWT (Data Watchpoint and Trace Unit) into a task-aware trace, which allows non-intrusive runtime and performance evaluation.
Controller supports up to 40 simultaneous touch points
Designed for touchscreens that have diagonals greater than 55-inches, the ZXY300 has been introduced to complement Zytronic's portfolio of rugged, ultra-large format, multi-touch touch sensors. Based on the company's MPCT projected capacitive (p-cap) technology, the controller enables far better touch point resolution to be achieved whilst maintaining millisecond level response speeds.
Würth Elektronik joins the fight against cancer
Supporting cross-border fellowship trainings devoted to global cancer control, Würth Elektronik has launched its “eiSos for Charity” campaign in partnership with the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). For every reference design that Würth Elektronik eiSos wins in 2014, the company will donate $40 to UICC.
IDT focus on wireless power solutions at MWC 2014
At Mobile World Congress (MWC), February 24-27 in Barcelona, Spain, Integrated Device Technology will be exhibiting innovative products from its industry-leading in hall 6, stand 6M27. IDTwill demonstrate its portfolio of mixed-signal solutions suitable for a wide range of applications, focusing on solutions forwireless power and wireless infrastructure.
Wireless charging is on the rise
The proliferation of wireless charging technology throughout Europe has accelerated during the last couple of years, fuelled in part by the increased availability of standardised wireless charging in mobile devices. But which standard will prevail? By Morten Kreiberg Block, Marketing & Engineering Director, Nordic, Arrow Electronics.
Controlled Impedance Line Designer in ADS
The Controlled Impedance Line Designer in ADS enables signal integrity engineers to do pre-layout controlled impedance line design by optimizing the substrate stack up and the transmission line geometry. It allows designers to do it in the context of an end-to-end system simulation and to drive the optimization using metrics that matter, in particular, the post-equalization eye height and eye width. This video shows a short demo of what can be do...
From passive to active
As mobile operators roll out 3G and 4G services, wireless networks will be characterised by migration away from legacy technologies to those that will more effectively support higher efficiency and performance. This is true in macro networks and also with distributed antenna systems (DAS), which deliver wireless signals in focused areas such as buildings and urban cores. John Spindler, Vice President, Product Management, TE Connectivity, takes an...
Viscom expands sales customer support in Europe

IP core combines reduced CPU utilisation & low area consumption
Designed for smart reader applications, the DSMART is an IP core combining highly reduced CPU utilization & low area consumption. The DCD IP core is also designed to be able to activate and deactivate cards, perform resets, handle ATR reception, as well as other additional features.
Living longer prosperously
As ageing and increasingly healthy populations proliferate developed and developing regions, engineering decisions such as choosing resistors for diverse medical diagnostic and therapeutic applications become more crucial. Stephen Oxley, Senior Applications Engineer, TT Electronics, explores further in this ES Design magazine article.
