Infineon increases safety & efficiency in trucks
Radar systems in trucks and construction vehicles play an important role in increasing the safety of road transport. Because they monitor blind spots, alert drivers if they come too close to other road users and automatically initiate the braking process in case of emergency. Radar systems make it safe to drive in columns with short following distances.
Dual-phase digital power controller features good transient response
IDT has strengthened its offerings of power management products with the introduction of a high-performance dual-phase digital power controller that can help customers optimise, monitor and control high-power supply systems. The second-generation ZSPM1363 digital PWM (pulse-width modulation) controller delivers high performance and excellent transient response, making it suitable for addressing the growing demands in the telecommunications, serve...
SMD schottky barrier rectifiers save space
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced six surface-mount Schottky barrier rectifiers in the low-profile DO-219AB (SMF) package. Providing space-saving alternatives to SMA and SOD123W packages, the Vishay Semiconductors SS1FL3, SS2FL3, SS1FL4, SS2FL4, SS1FH10 and SS2FH10 provide reverse voltages of 30, 40 and 100 V and offer high current ratings up to 2A for automotive and commercial applications and industrial applications such as freewheeling dio...
Wuerth Elektronik to exhibit at PCIM Europe 2016
Würth Elektronik eiSos will be exhibiting at the PCIM Europe 2016 trade fair from 10 thru 12 May 2016 (Hall 7, Stand 219). The core themes of the component manufacturer at this international trade fair for power electronics, intelligent drive technology, renewable energies and energy management are the new power modules, first and foremost the step-down converters that make up the MagI³C product category.
Power ICs integrate GaN FETS and logic
Believed to be the first GaN power ICs, Navitas introduces its ICs, based on its proprietary AllGaN monolithically-integrated 650V platform. They combine GaN power FETs with GaN logic and drive circuits, claimed to enable 10 to 100 times higher switching frequency than exisiting silicon circuits.
DC/DC converter offers excellent thermal management
Ericsson has launched a low-profile, 12V-output, digital DC/DC converter module that offers up to 25A current handling and 300W of power to deliver tightly regulated voltages to POL DC/DC regulators. Compatible with the DOSA (Distributed-power Open Standards Alliance) 5-pin eighth-brick footprint standard and offering an input range from 36V to 75V, the PKB4313D suits intermediate bus conversion in ICT applications.
Medical DC/DC converters feature 2uA maximum patient leakage
Designed and certified for medical applications, XP Power has announced the JHL and JHM series of encapsulated, isolated and regulated DC/DC converters. The 3W JHL03, 6W JHL06 and 15W JHM15 are approved to the 3rd edition international medical safety standards EN60601-1:2006 and ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1:2005, feature a low 2uA maximum patient leakage current and offer 2 x MOPP.
2W DC/DC converter features higher I/O isolation of 5200VDC
This addition to Aimtec’s cost effective unregulated AM2DS-Z series of 2W power supplies features continuous short circuit protection with auto recovery restart and 5200VDC Isolation. The restart feature works continuously until the short circuit condition is cleared. This protects the converter, the load, and the converter’s input circuit from extremely high currents due to a short circuit.
Digitally controlled PoL converters are PMBus compatible
Expanding its Okami series of non-isolated PoL DC/DC converters, Murata Power Solutions has announced a range of digitally controlled OKDL products. The OKDL-T/6-W12, OKDL-T/12-W12 and OKDL-T/18-W12, delivering 6, 12 and 18A respectively, are capable of being monitored and configured via PMBus communications.
