CISSOID delivers SiC intelligent power modules to Thales
CISSOID announces the delivery of the first prototypes of a 3-phase 1200V/100A SiC MOSFET Intelligent Power Modules (IPM) to Thales Avionics Electrical Systems. This module, developed with the support of Clean Sky Joint Undertaking, will help increasing power converters density, by decreasing weight and size, for power generation and electromechanical actuators in More-Electrical Aircrafts.
Differential probes take on high voltage applications
A new line of High Voltage Differential Probes has been launched by CalTest Electronics. The series is marketed under the Cal Test Electronics licensed brand of Elditest, known in both North America and the European Union. The line includes the following models CT4068, CT4076, and CT4079.
DC/DC converters offer wide 2:1 or ultra-wide 4:1 input ranges
MINMAX is proud to announce the MJW15 and MJWI15 series of 15W isolated / regulated DC/DC converters with wide 2:1 or ultra-wide 4:1 input ranges for OEM / ODM / industrial applications where space is critical. These two families of high-density (small size) / high performance DC/DC converters are identical except for their input range.
The ‘green’ argument for auto-ranging power supplies
Auto-ranging supplies offer the potential to both save equipment costs and save energy. Eric Turner, Intepro Systems.
iDPKs target handheld electronics, automotive and industrial systems
Interoperable Process Design Kits (iPDKs) are now available from Dongbu HiTek and Synopsys that enable Dongbu HiTek foundry customers using Synopsys’ Custom Compiler solution to rapidly design specialised analogue/power and mixed signal chips that target high growth markets.
Heat sinks cool brick DC/DC converters
Advanced Thermal Solutions now provides a family of high performance maxiFLOW heat sinks for cooling DC/DC power converters and power modules. The power brick heat sinks are available for full, half, quarter and one-eighth brick sizes. With proper thermal management, brick DC/DC converters can be used at their maximum operating temperature for optimum performance on PCBs.
Synchronous buck regulators deliver PoL conversions
Intersil has announced a family of monolithic synchronous buck regulators that step-down 5 and 3.3V primary rails to PoL inputs as low as 0.6V for GPUs, FPGAs, DSPs and SOCs. The highly efficient ISL78233, ISL78234 and ISL78235 deliver 3, 4 and 5A, respectively, of continuous output current to infotainment head units and ADAS employing forward-looking smart cameras to detect and classify objects.
Converter powers USB Type-C transceivers in next-gen devices
Maxim Integrated Products has announced that designers of USB Type-C small form factor devices can now create always-on rails with the ultra-low quiescent current MAX77596 buck converter. Next-gen products that utilise the high data rates and increased power transfer capability of USB Type-C ports will require low-voltage supply rails to power the necessary Type-C port controllers.
Microcontroller takes aim at IoT applications
The Intel Quark microcontroller, designed for Internet of Things (IoT) architectures and applications is being shipped by Mouser Electronics. The Intel Quark microcontroller D2000 is a low-power, battery-operated, 32-bit microcontroller with a more robust instruction set than other entry-level microcontrollers.
Evaluation board based on ADCs, 32-bit processor
The EVAL-ADICUP360 Evaluation Board from Analog Devices is now available from Farnell element14.The board is part of a comprehensive ecosystem which includes open source development tools, software examples, and hardware modules. The hardware has an Arduino/ PMOD form factor for easy plug and play functionality and rapid prototyping with ADI or third party shields.
