Automotive-qualified power inductors are robust & efficient
Targeting LED driver and braking control system applications in the automotive market, TT Electronics announces the HA78 series of power inductors. The inductors are suited for high power density applications where size is critical and particularly where high-efficiency DC/DC converters are using high switching frequencies to 3Mhz as well as EMI and low pass DC filters.
IXYS introduces 40V high-current robust power MOSFETs
IXYS Corporation has announced a generation of high-current Trench devices: 40V TrenchT4 Power MOSFETs. Available at either 270 or 340A current rating, they are optimised for DC to DC converters, synchronous rectification in switched-mode power conversion applications, high current Solid State Relays and motor control applications.
Chassis or DIN rail mount converters are fully encapsulated
Comprised of three models with ultra wide input voltage ranges, the DTE series of fully encapsulated single output DC/DC converters has been introduced by XP Power. Respectively offering 20, 40 and 60W output power, the DTE20, DTE40 and DTE60 are available in either a chassis mount or a DIN rail format, offering flexibility to the designer of the end-product.
Isolated DC/DC converters offer up to 91% efficiency
CUI has announced two open frame isolated DC/DC converter families offering 15 and 25W of output power in a single square inch of board space. The PRD15 and PRD25 series feature high typical efficiency up to 91% in compact low-profile modules measuring just 27.90x24.40x8.10mm (1.10x0.96x0.32").
SiGe up/down converters head to IMS 2016
A trio of companies - Richardson RFPD, Analog Devices and New Edge Signal Solutions – have combined to develop digital front-end (DFE) radio solutions, including new wideband (6-24 GHz) SiGe up/down converters (ADRF6780, ADRF6880) and transceivers. They will demonstrate the solutions at the 2016 IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS) in San Francisco (May 24-26).
Compact SMT high-current chokes extend from 1.0 to 30µH
TDK Corporation has extended its portfolio of EPCOS ERU SMT power inductors with the ERU19 choke series that comprises ten different types. The inductance values of the ERU chokes extend from 1.0 to 30µH and their saturation currents range from 10.1 to 43ADC.
Liquid cooling meets the needs of the electronics sector
A growing challenge for the electronics industry is to cool electronics with increasingly higher heat density in reduced spaces, but at the same time, improve performance. Now, a range of standard and customisable products have been introduced by Aavid Thermalloy to solve these problems.
