Low power prototyping board to simplify IoT endpoint equipment
Renesas haslaunched a low cost, function-rich board to enable rapid product development for IoT endpoint equipment, it is calledthe RL78/G14 Fast Prototyping Board.Quicker development prototyping and lower costs give users the agility to respond to rapid changes in technology and market needs, and reduces the time to market window for new products.
ISELED protocol feature added to MCU family
The S32K ISELED-enabled microcontrollers from NXP Semiconductors are now being shipped by Mouser Electronics. Part of NXP’s family of S32K automotive-qualified microcontrollers, the S32K ISELED-enabled devices offer the same feature set, but add the ISELED communication protocol.
eBook focuses on design process through to prototype
Mouser Electronics has released Prototyping with Purpose, the second eBook from Engineering Big Ideas, the newest series in Mouser's Empowering Innovation Together program. In the new eBook, experts from Mouser and the electronics industry walk through the design process, discussing tools, software methodology, circuit design, and the final integration into a solid prototype.
Development kit aids F-RAM memory evaluation
An easy-to-use and inexpensive development kit that will enable engineers to evaluate the high-performance Excelon Ultra QSPI F-RAM memory technology from Cypress Semiconductor is available at RS Components. There are demanding requirements for robust memory performance in terms of cycling endurance and data retention for industrial systems operating in harsh environments.
Bidirectional sensor handles extremely low pressures
A bidirectional differential pressure sensor for ultra-low pressures has been introduced by Analog Microelectronics expanding the company’s digital board-level pressure sensor series AMS 5915 with I2C output. The AMS 5915-0002-D-B allows the precise measurement of extremely low differential pressure in a pressure range from -250 Pa (-2.5 mbar) vacuum up to 250 Pa (2.5 mbar) overpressure.
AC/DC converters power single board computers
A range of enclosed switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) from Recom has been introduced by RS Components. They feature an integrated mains filter ideal for powering single-board computers such as the Arduino, BBC Micro:bit or Raspberry Pi, including its touchscreen.
Enabling the smart-energy future
European Utility Week 2019, taking place in Paris, from 12–14 November, is the meeting point for key players in the Smart Energy sector, where the latest developments in the transition to a fully integrated, low-carbon energy ecosystem will be revealed and discussed. Analog Devices (ADI), on stand Q130 in the Utility Week Exhibition, will showcase the special expertise its technologies can contribute in areas such as smart metering, power q...
Video reviews prototyping tools and open source movement
Mouser Electronics and celebrity engineer Grant Imahara have released the second video in the Engineering Big Ideas series, part of Mouser’s award-winning Empowering Innovation Together program. In the video Mouser and Imahara take viewers along to Milan, Italy, for a visit to Arduino, one of the world’s leading open-source hardware and software ecosystems.
Energy harvesting embedded controller portfolio launched
Renesas hasintroduced its RE Family, which encompasses the company’s current and future lineup of energy harvesting embedded controllers. The RE Family is based on Renesas’ proprietarySOTBprocess tech, which dramatically reduces power consumption in both the active and standby states, eliminating the need for battery replacement or recharging.
Integration of data-over-sound for Arduino boards
Chirp and Arduino have announced the first official integration of data-over-sound on Arduino’s range of boards. The integration allows Arduino-powered projects to send and receive data wirelessly through soundwaves alone, using just microphones and loudspeakers.
