Rectifiers outperform conventional switching diodes
Expanding its power semiconductor portfolio, Littelfuse has announced the MBR series Schottky barrier rectifiers (standard Schottky) and the DUR series ultrafast rectifiers. Designed to meet the general requirements of commercial and industrial applications, both series will be displayed at Electronica China, 15th to 17th March, 2016, in Shanghai, in Booth No. 3522 (E3 Hall).
Thyristor controlled transformer rectifiers enable outputs up to 750kVA
Powerstax announces the introduction its Drake TR Series of Industrial Thyristor Controlled Transformer Rectifiers. Available with outputs up to 750kVA this range of Transformer Rectifiers uses analogue or digitally controlled thyristors to achieve the required voltage and current profile with switched-mode technology available for smaller systems.
Industrial Thyristor Controlled Transformer Rectifiers from Drake
Powerstax announces the introduction its new Drake TR Series of Industrial Thyristor Controlled Transformer Rectifiers. Available with outputs up to 750kVA this new range of Transformer Rectifiers uses analogue or digitally controlled thyristors to achieve the required voltage and current profile with switched-mode technology available for smaller systems. Standard TR Series systems meet IP54 and they can be air, oil or water cooled and sealed to...
Charging mobile devices faster
The Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 (QC3.0) chipset from Dialog Semiconductor has now started volume production. Pin-compatible with the company’s QC2.0 chip set, Dialog’s chipset facilitates upgrades and will extend Dialog’s leadership position in rapid charging.
Isolated base rectifier modules rated up to 3.6kV
IXYS Corporation has announced that its wholly owned UK subsidiary, IXYS UK Westcode, announces an extension to the voltage range of its pressure contact isolated base dual rectifier diode modules. The module is rated up to 3.6kV and available in three diode configurations.
High current rectifier diodes feature increased power rating
IXYS has announced that its wholly owned UK subsidiary, IXYS UK Westcode, has added three new voltage classes to its range of 83mm die, pressure contact rectifier diodes. The new introductions are at 1.5kV, 4.0kV and 4.8kV and complement the parts at 2.2kV and 6.0kV already introduced.
Super-barrier rectifiers improve efficiency by up to 2%
Employing proprietary super-barrier trench technology to significantly reduce power loss and operating temperature, the SBRTF40U100CT and SBRTF40U100CTFP 40A rectifiers have been introduced by Diodes Incorporated. When used as output rectifiers in power adapters and quick chargers for smartphones, tablets and flat-panel TVs, these devices can improve efficiency by up to 2% and reduce operating temperature by up to 10°C.
Digitally programmable DC source provides 3.8kW of regulated power
Astrodyne TDI now offers a digitally programmable AC/DC power supply that provides 3,800W of regulated power and can operate as either a current or voltage source up to 400V or 170A. The modular 3.8kW Mercury-Flex is hot-swappable enabling maximum uptime.
Microsite focuses on power management technology
A Power Management Technology site designed to give engineers easy-to-access information on the latest technical advances in power management technologies has been unveiled by Mouser Electronics. As part of Mouser’s growing selection of Applications and Technologies sites, the Power Management Technology site provides a wealth of resource material.
Chinese component maker extends footprint in Europe
Rutronik and LRC (Leshan Radio Company), a Chinese manufacturer of diodes, transistors and integrated circuits, have extended their franchise agreement to cover Europe. Rutronik is already LRC’s distribution partner for Asia. LRC is one of Asia’s largest producers of small-signal discrete semiconductors.
