CoolSiC MOSFETs for maintenance-free servo drives
Infineon Technologies has supported the robotics and automation industry in implementing maintenance-free servo drive inverters. By introducing the new CoolSiC MOSFET with .XT interconnection technology in a 1,200V optimised D2PAK-7 SMD package, passive cooling becomes possible.
Deoxidation under vacuum with active process gases
The Nexus contact soldering system from Rehm Thermal Systems guarantees best results in reflow soldering processes using contact heat under vacuum. This enables the Nexus to meet the highest requirements in the field of advanced packaging and power electronics. The contact soldering system with a vacuum is also bespoke for void-free soldering of different components (e.g. IGBT) on DBC substrates.
EiceDRIVER X3 Enhanced family for greater flexibility
Infineon Technologies has launched the EiceDRIVER X3 Enhanced analogue (1ED34xx) and digital (1ED38xx) gate driver ICs.These devices provide a typical output current of 3, 6 and 9 A, precise short-circuit detection, a Miller clamp and soft turn-off. In addition, 1ED34xx offers an adjustable desaturation filter time and soft turn-off current with external resistors.
Toshiba launches 1,200V silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET
Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched a 1,200V silicon carbide MOSFET (SiC MOSFET) for high power industrial applications including 400V AC input AC/DC power supplies, Photovoltaic (PV) inverters and bi-directional DC/DC converters for uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
SiC FET devices based on advanced Gen 4 technology
UnitedSiC has launched the first four devices based on its advanced Gen 4 SiC FET technology platform. As 750V SiC FETs, these Gen 4 devices enable new performance levels, based on leadership Figures of Merit (FoM), that benefit power applications across automotive, industrial charging, telecom rectifiers, datacentre PFC, and DC/DC conversion as well as renewable energy and energy storage.
Solar inverter from Fronius uses CoolSiC MOSFETs
A few weeks ago Fronius International launched the Symo GEN24 Plus solar inverter which uses CoolSiC MOSFETs. Its Multiflow technology makes it suitable for a wide range of applications supporting energy self-sufficiency. Not only does it provide power for direct use in the household, but it also offers an interface for energy storage systems.
