Analogue signal generator delivers 20Ghz
Said to be the most powerful analogue signal generator on the market, the Rohde & Schwarz SMA100B features a frequency range up to 20GHz. It delivers signals with the lowest possible phase noise and the highest output power with extremely low harmonics. Engineers no longer need to compromise between output power and a spurious free dynamic range, says Rohde & Schwarz.
Widest bandwidth, lowest phase noise for next-gen high-speed systems
Texas Instruments has introduced an Analogue-to-Digital Converter (ADC) and Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) with an integrated Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO) that deliver the widest bandwidth, lowest phase noise and highest dynamic range in the industry. The wideband ADC12DJ3200 is the fastest 12-bit ADC, delivering speeds up to 6.4 GSPS.
Analogue front end detects power variations
The ADE9000 Analogue Front End (AFE) from Analog Devices is now being shipped by Mouser Electronics. The device is a highly integrated polyphase AFE with power quality analysis designed to help extend the health and life of industrial equipment while saving developers significant time and cost over custom solutions.
Why DC only distribution makes sense for energy savings
The drive for energy conservation, the DC basis of modern electronic systems, and the development of renewable energy sources have converged to challenge the 100 year old assumption that AC alone is the single best means of distributing electricity.
Next-gen LEDs set standards in miniaturisation
More than 25 years ago, the Topled set a worldwide standard as the first surfacemountable LED. Osram Opto Semiconductors now presents the latest generation, the Topled E1608, which has a package that is smaller than its predecessor models by factor 20. Despite this considerable miniaturization the low-power LED is bright, reliable and robust. The compact Topled offers greater options and greater design flexibility, particularly for car interior a...
EU funded project develops future offshore DC grids
Having made some important advances towards future offshore DC grids,a European Union-funded project that has trained the next-gen of offshore wind experts has just concluded.‘MEDOW’ was an ‘Initial Training Network’ funded by the EU’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme. It aimed to provide a ‘training through research’ approach to the exciting new field of multi-terminal DC grids for offshore wind...
Analogue controller performs power conversion
Microchip has announced a Digitally-Enhanced Power Analogue (DEPA) buck controller for DC/DC power conversion which offers more flexibility than any other analogue control architecture on the market today. The single-chip MCP19122/3 solution controls DC/DC converters and is capable of accepting a high-voltage input up to 42V while simultaneously regulating a wide output voltage range of 0.3V to 16V without any external components or drivers.
