Fairchild Semiconductor’s New Gate Driver Optocoupler Provides Designers High Insulation Voltage and High Noise Immunity
High power industrial applications such as solar inverters, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and motor drives demand a gate driver optocoupler capable of handling networks greater than 690VAC and constant DC voltages greater than1000VDC. In order to achieve this, a creepage and clearance distance of 10mm or greater is essential.
Low Profile 4-Pin SOP Phototransistor Optocouplers Offer the Best Combination of Electro-Optical
Everlight Electronics has introduced a new family of long-body, low-profile 4-Pin SOP phototransistor optocouplers offering the best combination of key specifications sought after by designers looking to optimize high-temperature performance in feedback loop and microprocessor system interface in power supplies as well as other applications requiring isolation.
Mitsubishi Electric launches 600V HVIC for Automotive Applications
Mitsubishi Electric is introducing a new 600V High Voltage Integrated Circuit (HVIC), the M81729JFP, for use in voltage converters of Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs). EVs and HEVs use voltage converters incorporated with power devices to convert high-voltage current, which is used otherwise to power motors, into low-voltage current to power various equipment in the vehicle.
CamSemi moves into LED lighting with new driver ICs
CamSemi has today announced the launch of the C3120 family of LED driver ICs and its intention to become a major player in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the lighting market. The new family has been specifically designed to drive an advanced boost/flyback topology to deliver the three essential performance requirements for volume LED applications: ‘best in class’ current regulation, high efficiency and power factor correction.
Avago Technologies’ Automotive-Grade Optocouplers Selected for Use in Mazda’s New Hydrogen/Gas Powered Hybrid Vehicle
Avago Technologies today announced that Yaskawa Electric Corporation has selected two of its latest R2Coupler isolation products for use in the futuristic Mazda Premacy hydrogen/gas powered hybrid vehicle. Yaskawa, which makes the electronic motor inverter system for the Premacy, is using Avago’s ACPL-782T automotive grade isolation amplifier and ACPL-312T gate drive optocoupler in its electronic motors.

NEC Electronics Europe Announces New High-Speed Optocouplers
NEC Electronics Europe has announced five new high-performance optocouplers for industrial and motor control applications. The PS9301 insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) gate drive coupler with output of 0.6 amperes and the high-speed PS8302, PS9303, PS9313 and PS9317 couplers are packaged in a 6-pin shrink dual inline package (SDIP) that reduces the on-board footprint to half of a conventional 8-pin DIP.
Vishay 1-MBd Analog Optocouplers Feature Isolation Voltage of 3750 VRMS in Small SOP-5 Package
Vishay is broadening its optoelectronics portfolio with the release of two high-speed analog optocouplers in the industry-standard SOP-5 package, saving up to 75 % in PCB space compared to a DIP-8 SMD package. The new VOM452T and VOM453T feature a baud rate of 1 MBd in a low-profile package with a height of 2.0 mm. They also feature a very short propagation delay of 1 µs which is critical for applications requiring faster switching times than s...
NVE Introduces Isolated CAN Transceiver
NVE Corporation today announced the introduction of the IsoLoop IL41050T isolated Controller Area Network (CAN) transceiver. Transceiver and isolation functions are integrated in a single device with improved performance and reduced chip count compared to discrete transceivers and traditional optocouplers. The IL41050T fully complies with the ISO 11898 CAN standard and de facto industry standards, and provides an isolated interface to three volt ...
