ARM Extends Software Interface Standard With DSP Library
ARM today announced the availability of Version 2.0 of the ARM Cortex Microcontroller Software Interface Standard (CMSIS). The enhanced version of the vendor-independent hardware abstraction layer contains extensions for the Cortex-M4 processor and includes the CMSIS-DSP (Digital Signal Processing) library of highly optimized signal processing algorithms.
Core Logic Licenses Arm Mali-400 MP GPU To Deliver High- Definition Graphics For Next-Generation Portable Media
ARM announced today that Core Logic Inc, a leading Korea-based fabless semiconductor manufacturer in the development and delivery of mobile multimedia solutions, has licensed the ARM Mali-400 MP multicore graphics processing unit (GPU) to enable significantly enhanced, high-definition (HD) entertainment and browsing experiences on smartphones, fully-featured multimedia phones, portable media players (PMP) and personal navigation devices (PND) wit...
ARM extends low-power leadership to high-performance enterprise apps
ARM has announced the development of two Cortex-A9 MPCore hard macro implementations for the TSMC 40nm-G process, enabling silicon manufacturers to have a rapid and low-risk route to silicon for high-performance, low-power Cortex-A9 processor-based devices. The speed-optimized hard macro implementation will enable devices to operate at frequencies greater than 2GHz.
NXP Adds LPC1100XL Low Power Platform and EEPROM to Cortex-M0 Portfolio
NXP Semiconductors N.V. has released the LPC1100XL microcontrollers series featuring extra-low power. With the industry’s lowest active power consumption at 110 uA/MHz and reduced deep sleep current below 2µA, the LPC1100XL has set a new benchmark for low-power ARM® Cortex™-M0 microcontrollers. Also today, NXP announced the new LPC11E00 series for space-constrained applications requiring dedicated EEPROM..
u-blox and Rohde & Schwarz team up on Galileo and GLONASS development
u-blox and Rohde & Schwarz (R&S), a worldwide leading supplier of test and measurement equipment, have successfully concluded a simulation of the soon-to-be-deployed European Galileo satellite positioning system. The test, carried out with the R&S SMBV100A vector signal generator and its GNSS simulation options, verified the u-blox proof-of-concept and the compatibility of u-blox receiver technology with the Galileo transmission protocol.
