A new DC/DC advanced bus converter that targets high-end and high-power applications and can handle 1,000W of power and 96.2A of peak current has been launched by Flex Power Modules, the BMR480.Coming in an industry-standard and low-profile quarter-brick-format with dimensions of 58.4x36.8x12.19mm (2.30x1.45x0.48"), the BMR480 operates from a wide 40-60V input voltage range and offers multiple tightly regulated (±2.5%) pre-programmed outpu...
Rectifiers save space, improve thermal performance
There are 13 200V and 600V FRED Pt Ultrafast recovery rectifiers in the eSMP series SlimDPAK (TO-252AE) package launched by Vishay Intertechnology. Each are available in Automotive Grade and commercial / industrial versions. Offering lower profiles and better thermal performance than devices in the DPAK (TO-252AA), the Vishay Semiconductors rectifiers deliver high power density and efficiency for automotive and telecom applications.
Can power electronics support market growth?
According to recent market research by Grand View Research, the global power electronics market will be valued at $39.2bn by 2025. To ensure electrical products and infrastructure are capable of supporting this 40% growth, REO UK is calling on laboratories and testing facilities to invest in stable DC power supplies for electrical testing. Electrical testing is a critical part of the design and development of power electronics and electrical comp...
Rectifier diode provides high temperature rating
Power and IC semiconductor company, IXYS has announced an increased maximum voltage and a new low profile package option for its W2624 series rectifier diode. The maximum grade voltage has been increased to 2800V and a new 21mm thick package option has been added to the standard range for this rectifier diode.
Rectifiers save space, improve thermal performance
A family of surface-mount TMBS Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers in the eSMP series SlimDPAK (TO-252AE) package have been released by Vishay Intertechnology. Offering lower profiles and better thermal performance than devices in the DPAK (TO-252AA), the Vishay General Semiconductor rectifiers feature reverse voltages from 45V to 150V, low forward voltage drop, and industry-high current ratings.
SCR thyristor has 150°C junction temperature in D-PAK packaging
Littelfuse has introduced a series of high-temperature SCR (silicon-controlled rectifier) thyristors, the first circuit protection devices of their kind to offer a junction temperature of 150°C in compact surface-mount D-PAK (TO-252) packaging. These devices are also available in through-hole V-PAK (TO-251) packages. Standard SJ Series SCR Thyristors have a low gate current trigger level of 6mA or 15mA maximum at approximately 1.5V.
Powering carbon capture installation to reduce CO₂ emissions
A high power rectifier system has been supplied by Powerstax to a leading waste management company Future Environmental Technologies, for a carbon capture installation at a factory in Wales. The installation allows the end user to its reduce C0₂ emissions and store and sell recovered commercial grade C0₂ for other applications.
