Urgent/11 further boosts VxWorks security
At Wind River, security is embedded in its DNA. It is part of the rich heritage of nearly 40 years in mission-critical systems. It is built into all the technologies it provides to help customers develop trusted and reliable solutions. Wind River take security extremely seriously, which is why the recent vulnerabilities discovered within the TCP/IP (IPnet) networking stack, dubbed “Urgent/11,” has resulted in the most secure VxWorks to...
Upgraded training facilities with a new digital LMS
Last week, the Empire Test Pilot School (ETPS) welcomed back Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier to MOD Boscombe Down for a tour of the new facilities and to celebrate the successful transformation of test pilot and engineer training.
Machine learning and AI are transforming workloads
Advancements in technologies such as machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are growing in the workplace – to the benefit of employees who are able to work more efficiently and intelligently than ever before. Dr Davide Zilli (pictured), Director of Client Services at Mind Foundry, explains how these tools are helping reduce time-consuming tasks, freeing up human expertise to be used where it is most effective.
Plug-and-play beam analysis solution is ISO compliant
New to LASER COMPONENTS’ range of beam analysis equipment is the BWA-CAM 20/20. Much like the existing Beam Waist Analyser (BWA) products, the system allows real time laser beam analysis and ISO compliant measurement of M2 and other spatial metrics.
Powerful supercomputer to solve global challenges
Fujitsu Australia has been awarded the contract to upgrade the nation's fastest supercomputer. The new machine, which will be housed at The Australian National University in Canberra and operated by the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI), will provide a ten-fold increase in speed and provide Australian researchers with world-class, high-end computing services.
Ultra-low-power microcontroller with 32KB FRAM
MSP430FR247x microcontrollers (MCUs) from Texas Instruments are part of the MSP430 MCU value line portfolio of ultra-low-power low-cost devices for sensing and measurement applications. MSP430FR247x MCUs integrate a 12-bit SAR ADC and one comparator.
Investing in the engineers of the future
Engineers collect a vast array of skills and experience through their working lives and it is essential that these are passed onto the next generation to become tomorrow’s engineers. Sulzer has a very long and distinguished history in delivering engineering solutions. In Southampton there is a strong focus on engineering and that is being supported by its continued investment in both apprentices and equipment.
Simplifying surge protection with eFuses
Welcome to this training video on simplifying surge protection with the TPS2660 eFuse. An industrial system needs to comply with the IEC Test Standards.
New technologies reduce cost of AI solution creation
At the annual Fujitsu Innovation Gathering today in London, Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe announces two new technologies that significantly reduce the cost of AI solution creation for visual inspection applications. The novel solution uses a new type of defect detector that is trained on normal (non-defective) data, reducing dataset creation costs as well as enabling the detection of previously unseen patterns.
KNX RF training kit for certified centres
The KNX Association has given the target that by the end of 2019, KNX RF should be added to the KNX Basic Course by all European training centres. Therefore, all certified training centres in Europe will use at least one KNX RF switch and one KNX RF media coupler.
