DC/DC converters for high-volume microwave applications
Two new isolated DC/DC converters, the PKU4611A and PKU4617A, have been introduced by Flex Power Modules in the sixteenth-brick form factor. The new converters are ideal for low-power radio frequency power amplifier (RFPA) requirements within small cell radios and microwave applications. They offer a wide output trim range, which is optimised for the needs of low-power radio designs that require a five to seven volt supply.
Digital DC/DC converter designed for high reliability applications
Murata has launched a series of 600W, DOSA compliant, 12V output, digital quarter-brick DC/DC converters. The series was designed for high reliability applications based on a 32-bit ARM processor that supports the latest PMBus commands for digital control and telemetry functions. The DSQ, DCQ and DAQ converters support the full ‘TNV’ input range of 36-75V, with a typical efficiency of 96% @ full load 48Vin.
MOSFETs bring performance to bridge and ZVS converters
STMicroelectronics’ MDmesh DM6 600V MOSFETs contain a fast-recovery body diode to bring the performance advantages of the company’s latest super-junction technology to full- and half-bridge topologies, Zero-Voltage Switching (ZVS) phase-shift converters, and applications and topologies generally that need a robust diode to handle dynamic dV/dt.
AEC-qualified FETs exploit GaN technology for autonomous vehicles
The EPC2206, and EPC2212 eGaN FETs by Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) are both discrete transistors in wafer level chip-scale packaging (WLCS) with 80 and 100V DS ratings respectively. They have received AEC Q101-qualification and will be joined by more discrete transistors and ICs designed for the harsh automotive environment, says the company.
Small low-power boosted smart audio amplifier
Listening to music, streaming video and gaming on smartphones just got better with a boost from Cirrus Logic’s latest boosted smart audio amplifier. The Cirrus Logic CS35L41 smart power amplifier is designed to support the growing trend toward stereo audio in smartphones and portable devices. It delivers enriched audio clarity and loudness with advanced power management, all in a small package.
Wide range input DC/DC converters for railway
Two series of wide input range, cost-effective, high-power density DC/DC converters for railway traction and rolling stock applications have been introduced by XP Power. The DC/DC converters’ wide input ranges reduce inventory requirements and enable them to be used across a wide range of applications.
Real time microcontrollers for next-gen automotive architectures
STMicroelectronicsis driving safer, smarter automotive electronics and advanced domain controllers with the introduction of its newStellar automotive microcontroller (MCU)family. The Stellar MCUs support next-gen car architectures, which rely on broad 'domain controllers' for areas such as Drivetrain, Chassis, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Power analysis software enables insight into system behaviours
Teledyne LeCroy has launched its 3-Phase Power Analysis software package, which brings 1-phase and 3-phase static and dynamic power analysis to its HDO8000A, HDO6000A and WavePro HD 12-bit High Definition oscilloscopes. With the 3-Phase Power Analysis software package, R&D engineers can now use Teledyne LeCroy’s 12-bit-resolution oscilloscopes to better understand complex power conversion system and control behaviours and hasten power c...
Frequency converter delivers up to 80% energy savings
An innovative frequency converter from Rexroth that delivers potential energy savings of up to 80% across industrial and automation applications has been introduced by RS Components. The EFC5610 intelligent variable-frequency drive enables manufacturers and other industrial businesses to tackle rising energy costs and increased demand for environmentally friendly production.
3GPP RAN5 working group considers sub-6GHz FR1 conformance test
What is said to be the industry’s first Protocol Conformance test in the Sub-6GHz Frequency Range 1 (FR1) has been submitted to the 3GPP RAN5 working group for approval by Anritsu. The test defined by 3GPP TS38.523 has been verified with Exynos modem 5100 5G New Radio (NR) modem developed by Samsung’s System LSI Business on Anritsu ME7834NR Protocol Conformance test system.
