Rackmount recorders achieve 4GB/s playback rates
Achieving 4GB/s aggregate recording and playback rates, the RTR 2728 and RTR 2748 rackmount recorders signal an expansion of Pentek's Talon family of turnkey recording systems. Designed to operate as complete recording systems, the recorders reproduce and record wideband IF signals at sample rates up to 1 GSamples/sec.
High-speed internet technology research centre
A new research centre focusing on faster and more reliable internet connections has been opened at the University of Edinburgh. Promising a bright future for web technology, the new research facility will develop a new generation of high-speed internet technology which is more secure and versatile than Wi-Fi.
Ultra-slim panel computer for medical applications
The MPC152-832 is a new 15-inch, fanless, ultra-slim medical panel computer which has been announced by Axiomtek. Powered by the low-power Intel Atom processor D2550 1.86GHz with the Intel NM10 Express chipset, the MPC152-832 medical panel PC has UL60601-1/EN60601-1 medical certifications and is therefore ideal for nursing cart, point-of-care terminal, or infotainment terminal use in healthcare environments.
600W 1/4 brick bus converters deliver 96% efficiency
GE has announced two new quarter-brick bus converters, the 625 Watt QBVE060A0S10R4 and the 600 Watt QBVS050A0B. Part of GE's Barracuda product series of fully regulated DC/DC power devices, each of the new bus converters improve power density by more than 50 % compared to industry-standard 400-W bus converters.
Full-stack WCDMA handset simulation enhances test solution
Aeroflex’s TM500 Test Mobile family now provides full-stack WCDMA handset simulation capability that is scalable from testing and verifying the performance of small cells right up to multi-handset, multi-cell network capacity performance testing.
Highly-secure Micro SD storage solution
Swissbit expands its flash memory product line with the new PS-100u Series security product line. Enabling highly secure solutions with an embedded secure element, this Micro SD form factor storage solution enables other solution providers to turn mobile and embedded systems into secure devices using the Swissbit secure Micro SD as a root of trust.
Expanded OpenCL support for Altera Stratix V FPGAs
BittWare has expanded itsOpen Computing Language support to additional Stratix V variants on their S5PH-Q PCI Express board. FPGA options now include GSMD5, GSED8, GXEA7 and GXEAB devices. Offering up to 16 GBytes of on-board DDR3 memory at 800MHz (1600 Mtps), S5PH-Q is a half-length PCIe x8 card. Two front-panel QSFP+ cages on the board allow implementation of two 40GigE (or eight 10GigE) interfaces direct to the FPGA for reduced latency.
Digitiser platform improves data acquisition speeds
Spectrum has released its first product based on the new, ultra-fast, modular M4i platform. The platform is designed to meet the growing need for increased streaming bandwidth and higher sampling rates and is up to 16 times faster than previous models.
Anritsu PCT system gets standards body thumbs-up
Anritsu says that industry testing standards body the GCF has validated its Protocol Conformance Test system for Rel-10 carrier aggregation, a crucial function in LTE Advanced network operations. Anritsu now has GCF approval for both its Protocol Conformance Test and RF/RRM Conformance Test systems for carrier aggregation.
TI introduces DC-DC converters for 3G and 4G LTE smartphones
Texas Instruments introduce the industry’s most efficient envelope tracking power supply solution to support 3G and 4G LTE multi-mode, multi-band RF power amplifiers used in smartphones and tablets. The new LM3290 step-down converter with integrated DC boost and companion LM3291 linear amplifier enable the use of envelope tracking techniques in RF transmitters to reduce the power amplifier temperature by 20 degrees C and reduce overall powe...
