Texas Instruments - AM1810 Sitara ARM MPU, a certified single-chip PROFIBUS solution, reduces power consumption and cost by up to 30 percent for industrial applications
exas Instruments announced its AM1810 Sitara ARM microprocessor (MPU), a new single-chip ARM9™ solution with an integrated PROFIBUS® interface, the worlds’ most popular fieldbus used for communications between factory automation equipment. This integrated, low-power device eliminates the need for an external PROFIBUS, ASIC or FPGA, which saves development time and cost while improving system performance. The AM1810 Sitara ARM MPU has ampl...
Texas Instruments claims smallest 6A, 17V step-down DC/DC converter
Extending its family of easy-to-use SWIFT power management ICs, Texas Instruments has introduced waht it says is the industry’s smallest single-chip, 6-A, 17-V step-down synchronous switcher with integrated FETs. The high-performance TPS54620 is 60 percent smaller than today’s multi-chip converters, resulting in a complete 6-A power solution less than 195 mm2 -- one-fourth the size of a postage stamp.
Texas Instruments advanced signal conditioners deliver industry’s highest performance at lowest power
Texas Instruments Incorporated today introduced 10 signal conditioners designed to drive high-speed interface standards such as 10G/40G/100G Ethernet, 10G-KR (802.3ap), InfiniBand, Fibre Channel and CPRI. The new integrated circuits (ICs) join a comprehensive family of repeaters and retimers that combat signal impairments caused by insertion loss, jitter, reflections and crosstalk in high-speed enterprise servers, routers and switches.
STMicroelectronics Launches New Dual-Interface EEPROM Enabling Remote Access to Electronic Device Parameters
STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a world leader in RF Memory and EEPROM ICs, has announced sample availability of the first in a new family of products that provide the flexibility to remotely program or update electronic products, anytime during their lifetime, and anywhere in the supply chain. The new devices enable manufacturers to update parameters, regionalize or activate software without connecting a programmer, or even opening the retail p...
Ultra-secure DRM extends programmable single-chip interfacing solution for handheld products
QuickLogic has added a suite of digital rights management (DRM) security functions including AES encryption, to the library of IP available for its programmable connectivity platforms. The technology greatly enhances design flexibility for handheld electronics products. It allows developers to extend the capability of their chosen embedded systems processor with both the security and peripheral interfaces they need, via a single low power consu...
