Flexible 3.2-GSPS multi-channel AFE reference design for DSOs
This high speed multi-channel data capture reference design from Texas Instruments enables optimum system performance. System designers needs to consider critical design parameters like clock jitter and skew for high speed multi-channel clock generation, which affects overall system SNR, SFDR, channel to channel skew and deterministic latency.
Overview of WBG and SiC capabilities
In this video Brandon Becker, Product Manager of Industrial Wide Band Gap at ON Semiconductor will give you an overview of wide bandgap capabilities focusing on self and carbide SiC for short silicon power devices.
Enhanced features at lower costs for 1W DC/DC converter
TRACO POWER has announced the release of its TBA 1 series of 1W DC/DC converters in the industry standard SIP-4 package measuring 0.46 x 0.24 x 0.38". This style of DC/DC converter is widely used to provide isolation between low power circuits and has long been the most common type of converter. The TBA 1 series provide enhanced performance characteristics enabling engineers to achieve design improvements while taking advantage of reduced costs.
Power switching regulator extends battery life in IoT designs
Texas Instruments has introduced an ultra low power switching regulator with according to the company, the industry’s lowest operating quiescent current (IQ) at 60nA - 1/3 that of the nearest competitive device. The TPS62840 synchronous step-down converter delivers very high light load efficiency of 80% at 1µA load, which can enable designers to extend the battery life of their systems, or use fewer or smaller batteries to shrink thei...
Bringing high power to small resistor
REO UK has brought high power brake resistors into the 21st century with its new REOHM series 155 braking resistors for industrial control cabinets. The product can deliver up to 3,500W of continuous power to drives with medium- and high-power frequency converters, with isolation voltages to 4.4kV, in a compact design that helps the product overcome the common problems with electrical braking resistors.
Edge-wound inductor provides low DCR down to 0.25mΩ
An IHDM edge-wound, through-hole inductor with rated current up to 150A for industrial and military applications has been released by Vishay Intertechnology. Featuring a powdered iron alloy core technology, the Vishay Custom Magnetics IHDM-1008BC-30 provides stable inductance and saturation over a demanding operating temperature range from -40 °C to +180 °C with low power losses and excellent heat dissipation.
Step-down converter with low quiescent current
The TPS6282x from Texas Instruments is an easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC/DC converters family with a very low quiescent current of only 4µA. Based on the DCS-Control topology, it provides a fast transient response. The internal reference allows to regulate the output voltage down to 0.6V with a high feedback voltage accuracy of one percent over the junction temperature range of -40 to 125°C.
So, what are S-parameters anyway?
Modern high-speed analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) have enabled the direct sampling of radio frequency (RF) signals, which in many cases eliminates the need for mixing stages while increasing system flexibility and capability. Traditionally, ADC signal and clock inputs have been represented by lumped element models.
Chip resistor series features high temperature capability
The CSSH Series ultra high precision current sense chip resistor series from Stackpole has recently been expanded to include a 0.3mΩ value in the 2512 size. The CSSH2512 0.3mΩ part is available in tolerances as low as one percent and TCR is 150ppm, with a 3W power rating.
Switch mode regulator helps cool down data centres
The Power by Linear LTM4700 µModule regulator from Analog Devices is in stock at Mouser Electronics. The step-down switching mode regulator combines very high power with energy-efficient performance to help reduce data center infrastructure cooling requirements.
