Enhanced workbench offers support for STM32L0 series
Available throughIAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, support for theSTMicroelectronic'sSTM32L0 series has been announced by IAR Systems. The Workbench has been recentlyenhanced with major new features including multicore debugging.
IC supports BeiDou, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and QZSS
The Teseo III product family from STMicroelectronics is a single-chip standalone positioning IC which can receive signals from multiple satellite navigation systems, including the Chinese BeiDou, the US GPS, the European Galileo, Russia’s GLONASS and Japan’s QZSS. The satellite-tracking IC is suitable for applications including in-car navigation systems, telematics systems, portable, marine, and fitness.
Movement/position sensor for mobiles and wearables
Comprised of a 3-axis accelerometer, a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis magnetometer, the LSM9DS1 is STMicroelectronics' most advanced module for 9-axis movement and position sensing in next-generation mobiles and tiny wearable devices. The sensors are integrated and synchronised to provide true 9-degree-of-freedom sensing, detecting linear acceleration, angular rate and magnetic field to provide complete position- and movement-sensing data.
Tiny gyroscope is optimised for OIS in smartphones
Designed specifically for optical image stabilisation in smartphones and digital still cameras, the L2G2IS is a 2-axis gyroscope with tiny dimensions of just 2.3x2.3x0.7mm. Easily integrated into next generation stabilised camera modules (which require ever smaller components), the sensor provides the high performance demanded by applications and consumers, despite a size 50% smaller by area and 60% smaller by volume than the previous generation.
New this week - ST's ARM EVB, Wurth high current inductors & high power LEDS from Cree
This video looks at new and interesting products. This week looks at: the ARM Cortex M4 evaluation board from STMicroelectronics; the WE-MAPI miniature high current power inductors from Wurth Elektronik; and the Cree XLamp MK-R2 LEDs.
IC harvests ambient light or thermal energy
Integrating all the required functions to power electronic circuits and recharge batteries using a solar cell or a thermoelectric generator (TEG), the SPV1050 energy-harvesting IC has been announced by STMicroelectronics. The ICs harvest ambient light or thermal energy in order to power small electronic devices including wireless sensors, smart-building and industrial equipment controls, and wellness and wearable monitors.
