Integrated point-of-load regulator increases efficiency
Infineon Technologies has introduced the new OptiMOS IR3826(A)M integrated point-of-load DC/DC voltage regulator. It is a fully integrated and highly efficient device in two versions (IR3826AM for 16A and IR3826M for 23A) for applications such as netcom router and switches, datacom, telecom base stations, server and enterprise storage.
Innovative approach makes solutions safer, faster and cheaper
A MULTI award-winning company has taken its cue from nature to develop an innovative transferable robot system which could hold the key to future engineering solutions around the world.UK company Createc collaborated with a range of businesses to develop its engineering solution as part of an £8.5m industry competition.
Demand for EVs will influence power electronics
Increase in carbon emission levels is driving the adoption of sustainable sources of energy such as solar, wind and geothermal over conventional forms. In 2017, emissions from electricity accounted for 28% of the total GHG emissions in the US. Efforts to implement sustainable power generation systems will bring in remarkable opportunities for power electronics industry players.
5 technology trends to impact the security sector in 2020
As existing technologies reach maturity and innovations make the leap from consumer applications to business (and vice versa), it’s imperative that we constantly seek to find those that have the potential to add value to our own business and those of our customers. As we look ahead to 2020, Johan Paulsson, CTO, Axis Communications has identified five trends that will have an impact on the physical security industry.
Keysight and AAC extend 5G NR collaboration
Keysight Technologies has extended its collaboration with AAC Technologies(AAC), a provider of advanced miniaturised technology, to accelerate validation of new antenna designs for 5G new radio (NR) devices.
Demystifying EMC seminar will cover wide range of topics

Power solutions support devices for cloud edge applications
Renesas hasannounced that its power solutions, as well as timing solutions from IDT, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Renesas, support theXilinx VersalAdaptive Compute Acceleration Platform (ACAP) devices featured on the Xilinx VCK190 evaluation kit and the Renesas VERSALDEMO1Z power reference board. Built on 7nm process technology, according to the company, Versal is the industry's first ACAP platform that addresses the needs of a wide range of appl...
Adjustable positive voltage regulator supplies more than 1.5A
The LM317 device from Texas Instruments is an adjustable three-terminal positive-voltage regulator capable of supplying more than 1.5A over an output-voltage range of 1.25 to 37V. It requires only two external resistors to set the output voltage. The device features a typical line regulation of 0.01% and typical load regulation of 0.1%.
Space saving low-dropout linear regulator with internal current limit
The LM1117 from Texas Instruments is a low dropout voltage regulator with a dropout of 1.2 V at 800 mA of load current. The LM1117 is available in an adjustable version, which can set the output voltage from 1.25 to 13.8V with only two external resistors. In addition, it is available in five fixed voltages, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V.
