42V, 6A silent switcher delivers ultralow EMI/EMC emissions
Analog Devices, which recently acquired Linear, announces theLT8640S, a 6A, 42V input synchronous step-down switching regulator. Its unique Silent Switcher2 architecture uses two internal input capacitors as well as internal BST and INTVCCcapacitors to minimize the area of the hot loops. Combined with very well controlled switching edges and an internal construction with an integral ground plane and the use of copper pillars in lieu of bond wires...
Ceramic disc capacitors extended to save board space
The VY1 and VY2 series of AC line rated ceramic disc safety capacitors from Vishay Intertechnology are now extended by a Mini Size Series with Y5V ceramic dielectrics. Featuring body diameters down to 7.5 mm, the Vishay BCcomponents VY1…Y5V and VY2…Y5V are designed to save space, lower costs, and increase reliability for Class X1 (760 VAC) / Y1 (500 VAC) and Class X1 (440 VAC) / Y2 (300 VAC) applications, respectively, in accordance...
Buffered 18-bit octal ADC shrinks solution size
Analog Devices, which recently acquired Linear Technology, announces the LTC2358-18, an 18-bit, 8-channel simultaneous sampling successive approximation register (SAR) ADC featuring integrated picoamp input buffers. With board real estate at a premium, the LTC2358-18 brings substantial space and cost savings by eliminating front end signal conditioning circuitry normally required to drive unbuffered switched-capacitor ADC inputs.
DC/DC converter controls DC fan motor speed
Believed to be the first DC/DC converter that is capable of DC fan motor speed control, the BD9227F reduces real estate demands (Visit PCIM Europe 2017 Stand 9-316).Designed to benefit integrated design, with a 75% reduction in mounting area compared with that of discrete configurations, the buck DC/DC converter is optimised for DC fan motor power supplies used in applications such as cold air circulation in refrigerators, says Rohm.
Safety certified MLCCs mean advancements in ceramic tech
MLCC’s have been used in automotive applications for years, but the big change being seen is the voltage rating and size of components now being used. This revolution in MLCC technology, used in control electronics, is being driven by modern on-board charging systems - PHEV & EV where mains ac is involved. Knowles brand Syfer has responded to demands by increasing its range of 250V ac X1/Y2 Safety Certified capacitors to 10nF.
AVX to present and exhibit at CMSE 2017
AVX will deliver two technical presentations, teach a training seminar, and exhibit at the 21stannual Components for Military & Space Electronics Conference & Exhibition (CMSE 2017), which will take place April 11thto 13th, 2017 at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Los Angeles.
Winches enable simple and effective lifting and pulling operations
Complementing the top-ranking hoists mounted on overhead cranes to raise and shift any loads from 63kg to 250 tonnes in three directions, steel wire manual and electric winches have been designed by VERLINDE and intended for other lifting and pulling operations.
Next-gen motherboards focus on reliability and stability
The latest addition toBIOSTAR's AM4 product line-up has been announced with the debut of the 2ndgeneration of the BIOSTAR PRO series motherboards. The new BIOSTAR A320 PRO series features new and improved features that focus on reliability and stability. The 2ndgeneration PRO series motherboards featuring A320 chipset supports AMD RYZEN CPU and upcoming APUs for the AM4 socket. The board will support up to DDR4-2667 memory up to 32GB in capacity.
Aluminium capacitors get new lease of life
The useful life of its 500V devices in its 159PUL-SI series of snap-in power aluminium capacitors has been extended by Vishay Intertechnology. For solar PV inverters, industrial motor control, and power supplies, the Vishay BCcomponents devices now offer a useful life of 5,000 hours at +105°C.
DIN-rail power supplies deliver up to 50% above rated power
A range of DIN-rail power supplies available from Dengrove Electronic Components can deliver up to 50% above rated power, which enables equipment to operate continuously during short-term overloads avoiding disruptive shutdown-reset, and allows designers to satisfy high system-demand peaks using smaller, lower-cost power supplies.
