Time-of-Flight imaging evaluation kit released
Melexis has strengthened the support offered for its ground-breaking Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensing technology. The EVK75023 evaluation kit accompanies its MLX75023QVGA (320x240pixels)resolutionToF sensor withhigh dynamic range DepthSensepixels. This hardware platform enables implementation of more advanced HMIs.
Melexis to demonstrate its sensors for touch-less HMIs
Melexis will be participating in two key events at which it will have live demonstrations of its sensors for touch-less HMI technology in action. The first event is Automotive Cockpit HMI in Detroit, which takes place from 19th to 21st May. Next will be the Image Sensors Conference in Brussels, taking place between 23rd and 25th June.
Use magnetic sensor ICs to develop next-gen HMIs
In order to support the innovative MLX90393 programmable magnetic sensor IC, Melexis has announced an EVB. The MLX90393 EVB provides a platform for constructing a wide variety of HMIs, from relatively simple slide, push/pull and linear swipe switches through to more complex 3D sensing systems, such as joysticks or rotary knobs with push functions included.
Optimise automotive sensing with Hall effect sensors
Improving the safety of vehicle drivers and passengers is receiving ever greater emphasis, with automotive engineers deploying sensing devices in their systems that deliver increased sophistication and set higher performance benchmarks. By Dieter Verstreken, Melexis.
Fan driver IC offers leading acoustic noise levels
Expanding the company’s portfolio of All-in-One single coil fan drivers, Melexis has introduced a 600mA single coil fan driver IC targeting energy efficient cooling system designs. The MLX90297 incorporates a minimum speed setting and a speed curve which can be tuned through inclusion of just one additional resistor.
Thermocouple interface IC facilitates greener cars
Enabling accurate and reliable monitoring of high operating temperatures for next-gen powertrains, a high performance sensor interface IC has been announced by Melexis. The MLX90327 can operate over a temperature range from -40 to +155°C without compromising accuracy. This makes it also suited for braking systems of trucks and high temperature industrial processes.
Challenges of implementing wireless charging
Keeping our handsets and other portable devices fully charged, on the go. By Peter Riendeau, Marketing Communications Manager, Melexis.
MEMS sensors measure pressure in harsh environments
Combining high sensitivity and strong linearity, two MEMS-based pressure sensors have been introduced by Melexis. The AEC-Q100 qualified MLX90815 and MLX90816 measure absolute pressure in demanding operational environments such as automotive pressure monitoring applications, industrial process controls, domestic appliances, medical equipment and consumer electronics gadgetry.
Initiator IC integrates immobiliser functionalilty
Utilising its expertise in wireless technology and passive entry/start systems for automotive, Melexis introduces the MLX74190. This LF initiator IC, consists of two high power, independently programmable LF drivers plus built-in immobilisers. The device is suited for wireless communication deployments requiring power efficient operation, such as automotive, safety and building automation.
Sensor IC draws just 2.5µA of current when idle
A fully programmable, compact sensor IC, capable of accurately measuring changes in magnetic flux density along its X, Y and Z axes, has been introduced by Melexis. The MLX90393, which is based on the company’s proprietary Triaxis technology, enables a wide range of HMI implementations.
