Power modules for telecom at embedded world
Flex Power Modules has announced that it will demonstrate how its latest range of power module technology and architectures deliver high performance advantages at embedded world 2020 (Hall 3A, Stand 400).
LED drivers for advanced vehicle lighting applications
ON Semiconductor has launched a new family of four devices that facilitate the high levels of performance and innovative functionality that vehicle manufacturers and consumers now expect from automotive exterior and interior lighting. Aimed specifically at low power solid state lighting, the new family comprises two LED drivers (NCV7683 and NCV7685) and two current controllers (NCV7691 and NCV7692).
There’s money to be made in IoT data
With the rise of IoT, businesses are capturing more data than ever before – but are they missing a trick when it comes to gaining additional value from that data? Great swathes of IoT data alone are not enough – from data context or business model, there is more to delivering value. Peter Ruffley, CEO at Zizo, explores the opportunities for monetising IoT data.
3D printing a catalyst for Industry 4.0
The variety of technologies compromising Industry 4.0 are now numerous, but it is the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), advanced industrial robotics (AIR), and 3D printing that are the driving forces behind the fourth industrial revolution, which is reorganising manufacturing and supply chains. Quocirca’s Louella Fernandes explains.
RF shielded case reduces power supply emissions
The RDI 20W Modular AC-DC Compact PCB Mount Power Supply series is available from New Yorker Electronics. The power supplies support up to 300VAC input with an operating ambient temperature of -40°C to +85°C, delivering up to 20W continuous output power.
Don’t ever compromises on supplies for ATEX systems
The standard for equipment used in explosive atmospheres is more than a logo on a datasheet, warns Marco van der Linden, UK country manager for PULS Power
eBook puts Design for Manufacturability under the microscope
Designing for Manufacturability is the third eBook in the Engineering Big Ideas series, part of Mouser Electronics’ Empowering Innovation Together program. In the eBook, technical experts from Mouser and the electronics industry highlight the challenges facing the design for manufacture (DFM) phase, where engineers begin refining a prototype to be suitable for mass replication.
Stepper-motor driver for adaptive front lights
This reference design from Texas Instruments details a solution to drive and control two stepper motors for dynamic headlight levelling and swivelling in automotive headlight applications such as an adaptive LED driving module or a high-resolution DLP module.
Dual channel constant voltage and constant current controller with SPI
The TPS92682-Q1 from Texas Instruments is a dual-channel, peak current-mode controller with SPI communication interface. The device is programmable to operate in constant-voltage (CV) or constant-current (CC) modes. In CV mode, TPS92682-Q1 can be programmed to operate as two independent or dual-phase Boost voltage regulators.
High power density 15A/50W output digital PoL regulator
Flex Power Modules announces the BMR4615001/001, a new variant of its popular BMR461 series of digital point-of-load (PoL) regulators. The new module provides up to 15A/50W at an adjustable output voltage of 0.6 to 3.3V, which equates to a 25% higher current and power delivery at 3.3V than the previous 12A maximum for that voltage. The input voltage range of the device is 4.5 to 14V.
