Altium has announced a new C compiler for the Generic Timer Module (GTM-IP MCS) from the Robert Bosch.
MCU, sensors & PM components used to monitor bees
With the aim of eliminating parasites that contribute to honeybee Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), STMicroelectronics and Eltopia Communications have announced that Eltopia’s Intelligent Foundation, codenamed ‘MiteNot’, uses an STM32F0 MCU, multiple sensors, and power-management components from ST to monitor and collect data on environmental conditions.
Ultra-HDp60 SoC ICs decode Ultra-HD HEVC at 60fps
The STiH314/318 and STiH414/418 Ultra-HDp60 quad-core SoC ICs have been released by STMicroelectronics, expanding the company’s Cannes/ Monaco family. The SoCs can be used to decode Ultra-HD HEVC at 60fps with 10-bit colour depth streams, and display this on the latest gen HDMi2.0 at 6Gb/s.
Bluetooth 4.1 network processor operates from 1.7V
Supporting the latest Bluetooth version 4.1 enhancements, a BlueNRG Bluetooth SMART network processor has been introduced by STMicroelectronics. The BlueNRG-MS network processor introduces 1.7V operation for longer-lasting battery-powered applications.
Next-gen DOCSIS platform to be demonstrated at International CES
STMicroelectronicsis to preview a high-performance DOCSIS3.1 platform in a live demonstration in Las Vegas during the International CES 2015.Next-gen DOCSIS3.1cable modems will help Multiple System Operators (MSOs) satisfy surging consumer demand for high-speed data services such as 4K Ultra-HD, multi-screen video-streaming services, Cable IPTV, gaming, file sharing, and home security.
IC-tuner family enables next-gen car-radio applications
Providing a uniquely scalable terrestrial radio-receiver platform for car-radio applications, STMicroelectronics has introduced the STAR-T (TDA7707) and STAR-S (TDA7708) IC-tuner family. The devices enable manufacturers of car radios to maximise their product-development efficiency and minimise their final product cost.
4K SoCs deter piracy through forensic watermarking
To detect unauthorised sharing of digital content and help deter piracy, STMicroelectronics and Civolution have integrated the NexGuard forensic watermarking with the UltraHD-4K Cannes and Monaco SoCs. The integration will be demonstrated at STMicroelectronics’ private suite during the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, which takes place from 6th to 9th January in Las Vegas.
Integrated run-time software now supports Atmel, ST & TI
Introduced with support for the Renesas RZ/A1-based RSK board, Express Logic has expanded its support for the X-Ware Platform to include boards from Atmel, STMicroelectronics and Texas Instruments. The target-specific, integrated run-time software combines all X-Ware components (ThreadX, NetX, USBX, FileX, GUIX and TraceX) pre-ported and fully integrated for use on specific development boards.
