Bolt stress and load measurement enhanced
Boltight has extended its range of ultrasonic measurement devices with the introduction of Echometer+. The new device uses the latest ultrasonic measurement technology and offers even more features and performance than Boltight's original handheld Echometer. It can accurately measure load, stress and elongation on bolts up to 25.40m long.
Handheld spectrum analyser adapts and grows to user needs
The R&S Spectrum Rider from Rohde & Schwarz assists users during RF transmitter installation and maintenance and also supports measurement tasks in RF development labs and in service. It offers high sensitivity of -160dBm and measurement accuracy of typically 0.5dB between 10MHz and 3GHz.
BeagleBone Green board gets plug and play connectors
The wait is over!. The highly anticipated BeagleBone Green, a Linux-based development board from BeagleBoard.org and Seeed Studio is now being shipped by Mouser Electronics. . The BeagleBone Green updates the popular BeagleBone Black, retaining the AM335x 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor from Texas Instruments.
Low-loss RF switches feature constant impedance technology
Integrated Device Technology hasannounced the expansion of its RF product portfolio with two switches that offer low loss and high isolation, with a new-to-the-industry constant impedance technology, called Kz. The F2914 and F2915 are 50Ω SP4T and SP5T RF switches that exhibit insertion loss of only 1.1dB with corresponding IIP2 of 124dBm and IIP3 of 61dBm at 4GHz.
Origami robot can fold, crawl & jump
Modelled on the inchworm, researchers at EPFL have designed a folding, reconfigurable robot that is capable of crawling and jumping. Researchers in Jamie Paik's Reconfigurable Robotics Laboratory, have thrown convention out the window by creating robots patterned on origami: flat, ultra-light and foldable. It represents a new paradigm in robotics.
