Regulator delivers 96% efficiency with ultralow EMI/EMC emissions
Analog Devices, which recently acquired Linear Technology, has announced the LTC7103, a 2.3A, 105V input capable synchronous step-down switching regulator. Its wide 4.4V to 105V input voltage range is designed for operation from a continuously high voltage input source or from an input that has high voltage surges, eliminating the need for external surge suppression devices.
GaN FETs demonstrate AirFuel wireless charging
A demonstration kit from Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) targets Class 4 AirFuel Alliance-compatible wireless power for wireless charging and is based on the company's eGaN FETs.
A low cost Fly-Buck converter for 12V applications
The Fly-Buck converter has gained attention recently as an effective means to provide an isolated voltage rail. Many useful design notes exist and applications examples use Texas Instruments (TI) Constant On-Time (COT) ICs to provide one or more isolated rails for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) isolated power, multiple isolated IGBT gate driver power rails, isolated RS485 interfaces and numerous other applications. Dan Tooth, Senior Field Ap...
RF MLCCs offer 200°C operating temp in small cases
Surface-mount multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) for high frequency RF and microwave applications claimed to be the first to offer an operating temperature range to +200°C have been launched by Vishay Intertechnology. For telecom base stations and military communication systems, the Vishay Vitramon VJ HIFREQ HT series provides ultra-high Q and low ESR in four compact case sizes.
Capacitors meet voltage transient critical requirements
Global supplier of electronic components,KEMET,has announced the extension of its T598 range of polymer electrolytic capacitors with new higher voltage rated parts. The addition of 35V devices for capacitance values of 22 and 33 microfarads represents a first-to-market for KEMET. The new AEC-Q200 qualified parts extend the range of automotive applications in which the benefits of polymer electrolytic devices can be utilised, and provide a product...
Polymer electrolytic capacitor offers extended life test option
Supplier of electronic components, KEMET,has introduced what it claims to be the industry’s first COTS grade polymer electrolytic capacitor with a 1,000-hour life test option. The new option, also known as the 'Biased Humidity Test', provides capacitors qualified at 85°C with 85% relative humidity at rated voltage applied for 1,000 hours. The test type provides capacitors qualified to the rigors of MIL-STD-202 Method 103.
Automotive MOSFET driver ICs designed for high-power applications
The two new N-channel power MOSFET driver ICs from Allegro MicroSystems Europe, is capable of controlling MOSFETs connected in a half-bridge arrangement.Allegro’s A4926 and A4927 are specifically designed for automotive applications with high-power inductive loads, such as, DC Pumps (Braking, Oil, Water, and Fuel), HVAC (Blower Fan), solenoids, and actuators.
Two buck regulator reduces EMI and enables high power density
Analog Devices who recently acquired Linear Technology, has announced the LTC7150S, a 20V, 20A monolithic synchronous buck converter with differential VOUT remote sensing. The device’s phase lockable controlled on-time constant frequency current mode architecture eases compensation and is suitable for high step-down ratio applications that operate at high frequencies while demanding fast transient response.
ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation obtained for Shenzhen lab
Manufacturerof electronic and electromechanical components, Würth Elektronik eiSos,strengthens the company’s test lab in the Shenzhen subsidiary responsible for its Chinese plants. The China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) has now extended and expanded accreditation of the lab in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025: 2005. The current accreditation now applies until 2023.
DC/DC converters drive high capacitive loads
The REC3A, REC5A and REC6A isolated DC/DC converters from RECOM are now available at Dengrove Electronic Components. They require no external filter components to pass EN 55022 class-A EMI tests. They will also pass the class-B tests for domestic products, with only a small capacitor added.
