AOI import option cuts test program generation time
The AOI systems of GOEPEL electronics now offer an import option for test programs of other system providers. The conversion shortens time for generation of test programs significantly compared to the use of CAD and pick & place data. This process is underpinned by the extensive AOI component library of the systems.
Solder saver can save up to 50% in solder bar purchases
An improved Solder saver from Aprotec Instrumentation has been announed by their distributor Gen3 Systems. The Solder saver has been designed for use with leaded and lead-free wave soldering machines, with the company claiming that the ‘wave soldering’ the Solder saver offers can save up to 50% in new solder bar purchases.
Flyback transformers target 30W PoE+ applications
Operating at 250kHz with 36-72V input, the POE300F series flyback transformers have been introduced by Coilcraft. The devices meet IEEE 802.3at-2009 standards for PoE+ (Power over Ethernet Plus) applications up to 30W, such as VoIP telephones, IP cameras with pan tilt and zoom (PTZ), wireless access points, network routers and remote Ethernet switches.
Tackling thermal management for smart building LED design
High lumen density LED arrays are fast becoming the technology of choice for downlights and directional lighting in smart buildings, whether for retrofit or new build applications. Addressing the thermal management challenge presented by these devices can be relatively simple. Alan Jermyn, V.P. European Marketing at Avnet Abacus, explains.
