electronica 2014: Six-in-one scope rolls into Munich
The six-in-one MDO3000 Series oscilloscope will take centre stage on the Tektronix stand at electronica. Not just a scope it also integrates a spectrum analyser, logic analyser, protocol analyser, arbitrary function generator and digital voltmeter. Its presence will emphasise how it enables engineers to clear their bench of multiple instruments.
electronica 2014: Thermal imaging solution makes debut
Canada-based Acculogic travel to electronica armed with an array of test equipment. Pride of place goes to the the FLS980 Series III with the Ultimate Accuracy Package Option along with high-throughput features such as the latest version Flying Bed of Nails (FBON). The new ThermoScan thermal imaging test solution and MircoScan miniature image observation and testing solutions will be unveiled at the show for the first time.
Making the most of electronica 2014
In this free webinar, Frank Ambos, Trade Advisor UKTI Germany, and Anke Odouli, Exhibition Director of electronica trade fair, outline the show’s main features and services offered to UK companies.
Local team fields full test squad at electronica
electronica in Munich (Nov 11-14) is a home game for the Munich-based locals Rohde & Schwarz so it will not miss the opportunity to parade a tranche of instruments before the show's international audience. These range from general-purpose to high-end measuring instruments, for the lab and the production line.
Workshop/Forum focus on security issues
Embedded Office and Lynx Software Technologies are to host an educational workshop entitled ‘Is your ‘safe’ design open to security vulnerabilities?’ at the Kempinski Hotel, Munich Airport on November 11. As the world of industrial automation moves in the direction of “Industry 4.0”, the evaluation of data security is becoming increasingly important, not only in the context of the Internet of Things, but also i...
NXP & Mouser launch design contest
NXP Semiconductors has introduced their line of multi-gate, multifunction, dual PCB configurable logic devices with Schmitt-trigger inputs. The Dual PCB Configurable Logic product line will be the centrepiece in a design contest featuring products from other NXP Business Units, including Smart Analog, Load Switches, Protection and Filtering, Small Signal MOSFETs, Small Signal Diodes, and other devices on the same evaluation board.
Power modules offer 0.1% line regulation
Utilising emulated current mode Constant On-Time (COT) control, the 10A XR79110 and15A XR79115 single output, synchronous step-down power modules have been released by Exar. In a single die, the devices integrate power converters including MOSFETs, inductors and internal input and output capacitors.
PFM-only DC/DC converter operates from just 0.5µA
In A6.280 at electronica 2014, Torex Semiconductor will present the company's first PFM-only step-down DC/DC converter that has been specifically developed for ultra-low power applications. The XC9265 series consumes just 0.5µA during operation and is therefore suitable for applications that run from batteries for long periods of time.
Enhanced step driver targets LED lighting market
Exar has developed an improved alternating current (AC) step driver for light emitting diode (LED) lighting applications. Combined with other iML offerings, the iML8684 provides a complete solution for LED light bulb and LED tube applications. Unlike conventional AC driver solutions which use a single large driver, iML has patented a unique distributed architecture of multiple small, low cost drivers.
JTAG, AOI solutions readied for electronica showing
electronica will provide the platform for a wide range of optical and electrical measuring and testing technologies from GOEPEL electronic. Taking centre stage will be the AOI division, represented by two systems: the solution for high-end inspection in large scale production which bears the name TurboLine. Double-sided inspection without assembly turning and rotatable angled-view are the factors for an even faster testing.
